    Default Kind of complicated situation

So I come from a super religious family. Full of drama. And the closest club to me is 30 minutes away. Not bad, but I can't work there because I'm from a small town and a few of the small towners go to the club and that will just get back to my parents and they will just end up hating me so the closest clubs are an 1 and 40 minutes away from me. Which I wouldn't mind commuting to, but I think it will start to wear down on me and I won't like it anymore. I really want to dance though! And I can already do pole tricks, some advanced. And I know I have a nice enough body for it indeed. I am confident. I would say my face is okay though. Anyone have any advice though? Like how to work up the courage to actually go the audition, or what might help my situation? I used to be a cheerleader and a gymnast, so I'm not scared to perform. I just need to get over the intinal fear. And I am also very flexible so that helps me and I can dance, so I think I might have a decent shot in getting the job.

For the audition- just GO. Get ready at home so when youre done, youre going to WANT to get in your car and go because you wouldnt want to put all that time to waste. Getting past that hump is the hardest part, in my opinion. Others may disagree, but for me, once auditions were over, it was easy from then on out.

At least give it a shot (or two- just in case the first night doesnt go so hot) to see if it's a place that is worth your drive and gas money. Weigh the pros and cons and find out where to go from there.

Once you start working, get into a routine. Treat yourself to a coffee or redbull on the way to work, pick up something to eat from your favorite Cafe.. get into the habit of a routine, that way it helps you prepare for "stripper mode" as I see some girls calling it on here.

Im still new, but that's the type of advice I have gathered (and used myself) from my time on here.

I think we live in the same area judging from the other thread. I feel the same way. I've been putting off trying for months but I finally decided to suck it up and call the club and im heading up there tomorrow. So I say just go for it. Wish I could give you better advice but im a newbie too.

In my opinion, dishonesty is never an easy fix. I wish there was a way to convince your parents that this is something beneficial that you want to do and show them that you're still the girl they love -- even as a dancer. =/

Well I'm sure we all would but that's just not the reality for most people. While there are some parents out there that understand, most do not. I know for a fact that if my parents knew about me considering dancing they would freak the fuck out. To them, dancing is basically the same thing as prostitution.
