whoever bought this thing at those prices are nuts. The Valuation is all wrong. i'd consider buying FB at $8- $10 .

Outside the Dollar Den, I would only point out that the Facebook IPO actually benefitted a relative 'handful' of entities ... from Facebook's 'founders' who saw their stock options turn into real cash, to the state of California who will see huge state capital gains tax revenues from it's Facebook principals, to JP Morgan / Morgan Stanley / Citibank etc. who earned major fees via the stock offering, to 'connected' uber-rich investors who were able to get in on the 'first wave' of IPO shares. Basic 'losers' were pension funds and other institutions who invested in Facebook, non uber-rich retail investors who got in on the 'second wave' of IPO shares, etc. The difference in 'gains' is the same as many previous IPO's ... however the overall 'gains' have now fallen to the point where the latter group experienced a loss.

Don't leave out the HF traders..... They were making out like bandits in the first hour or so of trading...... What a country.
The country has been looted.

I think the hedge funds that made out best on Facebook were the ones that got the heads up from MS that it was over valued. Although to be honest, the profits just weren't/aren't there to support the share price, and that was obvious before the IPO.

Y'know, one would think people would have learned, but nope.

How much will it be worth in 5 years when we are comparing Facebooks outmoded software to that of MySpace?
