Agreed, completely. I've been camming for 15 years and there is no rhyme or reason to the traffic flow. There is only one day of the year that has been consistently slow for me, year after year and I sign in on that day just for a bit because experience tells me it's otherwise a huge waste of time, and that's Superbowl Sunday! Other than that, we can make excuses for every month of the year, for why traffic is slow.
This has, so far, been the week from hell for me, but I'm not going to attribute it to anything other than my personal findings, which are: 1) My listing has me middle of the page, where I've slid to in the last 5 weeks, from the first 2 top rows (sometimes 1, sometimes 2), where I used to be for the last 2 years. 2) I'm listed in whitelabels that, according to internet stats reporting sites, have little to no traffic. 3) The site itself is losing traffic this week and its trends, according to this, show increases but then major drops over quarterlies.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/streamate.com# Down in the last week, across the board. Go back a year if you really want to see where it dipped. It seems to me that they are unable to retain the independent girls, so they keep pushing/promoting studios. When I first started there, just over 2 years ago, I was so happy, I sung their praises to anyone that would listen. Girls were inspired to sign up themselves and see if they'd do as well and they did. Now, those girls are nowhere to be seen. When traffic dies, we don't sit around and analyze it; we leave. I'm guessing that's exactly what has happened. I'm also sticking to my guns as far as content theft is concerned. It's putting a major dent in our revenue. You have to look at the big picture and imagine the worst possible scenario, then take it down a couple of notches and then start crunching the numbers a little. My content is earning more revenue than I am. There is something terribly wrong with that picture.
And keeping it fresh, hustling, yada, yada, yada, is something we all do, (despite the sometimes 'generous' advice given in these forums with regards to what we're doing wrong or not doing, for that matter), but if there's no traffic, you can't make money. It really is that simple. Send my own traffic to the site? Sure but I don't trust them. Their reports have no details and most of the time, I'm left wondering where all those sign-ups I've had in the past are now. They're not spending anymore. I'm supposed to be getting revshares at 30% for life. Hmmmmm. So not one of all the guys I've brought over is spending anymore? Not a cent? Not a Gold show? Nothing at all? I find that very hard to believe but then on the flip side, it might help to explain why the site is so dead lately.
My 2 cents. I'm certain this will receive more than its share of criticism. Chop away!
