    Default whiteheads/white bumps on chest?

Whats up guys, I have these white bumps (whiteheads I presume) on my chest. I have had acne on my chest/back (not so bad on my face fortunately) since 13 (thanks puberty) and I am now 25. I am used to my skin looking like hell at times so I never really paid much attention but now I notice em. They are just in the chest area, my back is pretty scarred up from acne but thats about it. Face is decent, luckily 98% of my scarring is on the back, just a little on the chest and even less on the face. I have gotten facials before for black head removal (nose area) and pimple poppage but never on the chest. These little white bumps are like under the skin and near impossible to pop. I was wondering if I would need to get em extracted by those facial spas/clinics or is there something I can apply to em? I am just entertaining the most cost effective solutions first before visiting a dermatologist and or a acne clinic. Help/input is greatly appreciate.

P.S. not sure if this matters but im a dude, 25, American Filipino, my skin type is oily, and I have a tan complexion.

Might be keratosis pilaris, which is easily dealt with. Does it kind of look like this?:

if it's that ^ oil pulling has good anecdotal evidence of helping.

Otherwise I'd say exfoliation, and acid peels.

I swear by exfoliation! I use an old tshirt. I just wet it and rub gently in circles all over my face once a week. I started doing it when I was around 15. I saw some flaky skin and rubbed it off that way, had an AHA! moment and never stopped doing it. My skin is the trait I am most proud of.

OP, exfoliation will totally work! Just don't use the bath poofs. They trap hella bacteria and can make your skin worse. Use a textured rag or old cotton tshirt, something you can put through the wash.

Thanks guys, it does look like kinda like the photo posted but the little white bumps arent too raised. They look like they are just under the skin (the skin on my chest looks thin and when I flex my chest by clasping my hands behind my back I see the skin move with the bumps just under. I feel like I might need an esthetician (sp?) to pop/extract these suckers. I tried scrubbing gently but it doesnt seem to do anything but just irritate the area. Ill give it another shot though when im in the shower.

They look like this but on my chest.

*Like I said ill try the exfoliation/scrubbing but it seems like they would need extracting? Well see what happens.

huh. do you have a problem with ingrown hairs at all?

I notice that sometimes I get little bumps like that when I think my fine facial hair gets ingrown. Then I fuck with it and it gets all big and ugly.

I'm going to try that tshirt thing mediocrity.

extraction might make it look worse. Exfoliation or a peel should help if it has to do with dead skin. If it's pilaris, like the arm picture, look into oil pulling.

I don't know. I'm just sitting here going "huh. I wonder what will help."

    Thanks for the input,

no problem with ingrown hairs...now toenails. thats another story.

But yeah back to the subject at hand, ill try the cloth suggestion. If that doesnt work (cross fingers) then ill probably see an esthetician.

P.S. no idea what oil pulling is...ill google it now.

Okay oil pulling is definitely interesting...hmmm its worth a shot. Ill have to try it when I get back home to California (im in the philipines now awaiting my rhinoplasty procedure next week) so things arent readily/easily available to me at the moment.

P.S. maybe im jumping to conclusions but isnt oil pulling for oral health? Or does it work to improve the internal balance/harmony inside the body.

I don't know-- I just know that I remember several people writing on a website (maybe curezone?) that oil pulling helped their keratosis.

    dunno.

My skin is very reactive to what I eat. I've gotten those before and they don't just go away, from my experience. I exfoliate religiously too :/ IMO, you'll have to have them extracted.

    1. Thanks!

    2. I tried the exfoliation/towel scrub deal to no avail...

Guess extraction is the most promising from what I can see.
