    Default Going on a break.

I'm taking a break from dancing probably until I move. May switch to cam modelling in the meantime. But I'm worried I'll regret taking a break. Although the money here is NOT good like it used to be, I'm worried about forgetting everything I've learned in the past 6 months.

    What do you guys think?

About three months. I'm just scared I'll go back and feel like I never danced before and go through all that...

That is a long break, how are you usually when you take breaks from things ? Will you not go back ? Do you have enough money stashed to get your through 3 months ? Are you gonna sit around eating all day and gain 15 lbs ?

I took a break whenever I was swamped with schoolwork and another job that feeds my long-term career goal. I'm fairly new as well (less than 1 year in) and I wish I hadn't taken the break because now I have the same anxieties that I did in the beginning. Also, if you start spending up your savings, when you go back, you'll feel like you need the money fast. For me, feeling like I *need* the money fucks me up. Especially since you're preparing for the move, I think you shouldn't take a break. Maybe only work once a week or once every other week if you really don't want to be there. But if I could redo it, I'd keep some sort of schedule that kept me used to the club experience, because I feel like I need training wheels again now. That's not something you're going to want to feel when you're in a new city, at a new club, presumably with new bills to pay.

In my experience taking breaks has been very beneficial. I've stopped dancing several times for 3 months or more, the first time I had only been dancing for about 4 months. When I went back I did not feel as if I'd forgotten anything whatsoever. I've found my earnings are always significantly higher after I return from a break because I'm less burned out and not feeling so irritable with customers. Of course everyone is different, but I highly doubt you would forget everything you've learned. If money is bad right now then a break might be exactly what you need to feel refreshed.

...It's like riding a bike! Even though you haven't been dancing for very long, you have still danced, so it won't be as scary as starting over. Everytime I get burnt out/sick and come back after taking time off I feel refreshed, positive and enjoy being at work more than when I'm there on a daily/weekly basis. If you come back happier then your earnings will benifit-once you start making money your first night back, you will forget about the nerves .
