You are kidding, right?????!!
Not about the money, you should easily be able to make $100 in tips serving. About being emotionally draining. I have been a waitress/server many, many times over the years, and never lasted more than a couple months because it was SO horribly draining. You have to be just as energetic, "up" and involved with people all night, but instead of being able to take a break whenever you want, you get timed breaks once or twice. You can't have a drink, you can't just stop if you feel like it....Then there are the people!! You can't kick, block, ban, or be rude to people - you HAVE to deal with the people in your section, and you HAVE to be nice to them, no matter how busy it is, how rude they are, etc etc. And you have to deal with others that you are working with - bitchy servers, asshole bartenders, mean kitchen guys, all of it. On your feet for hours at a time, carrying heavy trays, dealing with managers telling you what to do...
And on top of it all, if you are an attractive woman serving, you ALWAYS get assholes who treat you like you are in the sex industry anyway!! Comments, grabby drunk guys, even guys trying to smack your ass or staring desperately at your tits like they may leap out of that uncomfortable uniform....
If you think that serving is less draining than camming, either you shouldn't be camming, or you have worked in the nicest restaurants ever...
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

Hear me ramble about random things:

Whatever the job, I think the enjoyment/stress level is measured in those you work with. Camming, I only work with myself, and I like me. However, I can be one nasty bitch of a boss. ;-)

Turns out I was scammed with my 5000 tokens. Good thing I didn't do anything dirty! He was banned.

i agree. camming gives me the ultimate freedom and i can make money anytime i want. think about it- bored? cam. cant sleep? cam. no weekend plans? cam. do this on top of your normal camming schedule and watch the bucks come in. plus i think its healthier than dancing- no drinking, no smoking, no touching...i love camming but to keep myself sane, i still dance 2 times a week to get out the house. sometimes i cam during the day and dance at night to make it a thousand dollar day.
i love camming and i cannot wait to get my cam score back up! right now its 2300
thats partially true .
99% of the cam models, even if they do not belong to a studio ( so they dont share their earnings) just " survive" doing this job.
most dont get beyond saying its just another job.
I wish I could be " forced" to cam 12 hours a day so that in 5 years from now i can truly say i have the " ultimate freedom".
right now Im a slave to camming.
and thats far from freedom........
Things start falling apart when you have lots of freedom.

Not only that but you also have to deal with schedules and your boss taking advantage of you. I have never been a server, but a few of my friends have. If you are a single lady with no children your boss will take advantage of you in the aspect of extra shifts/staying late/etc. One of my best friends quit her job over her boss telling her, "You have no children so why do you need a day off?" after she asked her for a day off after working 14 days straight. And often times my friend would work more then 10 hrs in a day to cover for other people. She quit and went to the labor board to report her employer. But apparently from what she tells me, the way her boss treated her was pretty normal for most restaurants.
I like camming because I log off whenever the hell I want. My family and friends are important to me so I like to work whenever I feel like it. Not according to someone else's schedule.
You can make a very good living off webcams, but most girls don't. Stripping is very different from webcam work. You need to rely on your personality more when you camming, you can't get by on looks alone. If you understand that interactivity and developing a personal connection with your clients is the key (a personal connection to your fake persona, of course, not the real you), then the money will start rolling in!

I'm single with no intention of ever ever having children! I live at my parents house with no bills until I can afford to move out and I live in a poor city. I'm sure I'll be fine! I'm just hoping if I quit my day job this will be good enough bc my job sucks. And are there any sites where you can get your checks in the mail sooner than 2 times a month like on MFC? Being a stripper, I'm not used to bank accounts. So I'll need one eventually.

I believe it to be possible, as we see many models who do!

new question. can you make a living off camming only on SM ?

CAN I MAKE A LIVING OFF CAMMING?:
Camming is like real estate. Some make an amazing living (top 1%), some do okay, and probably majority don't make enough to survive and move on to the next career. It just depends. You work for yourself. Its essentially a 7-day-a-week job if you want to make good consistent $$$. Only... real estate is about sales, grooming, & personality... Camming is about sales, grooming, personality, and LOOKS. You never know what you'll make til you try, but if you're looking for fast money, guaranteed money, or BIG money, you will probably not find it in camming.
I'm probably going to get hate for this also, but if you're a butterface, you're WAY better off dancing. Let the dark lights focus on your body. If you have implants, you're probably better of dancing. If you are big-money focused, you're better off dancing.

I wouldn't have gotten into camming if I didn't absolutely have to. My situation won't allow me to get a regular job, and my boyfriend suggested camming as a way for me to bring in SOME sort of income. Now that I'm in the business, I like it. I still consider myself as just starting out (started in January of this year), but I'm learning and getting better. One of the things that makes this job different from other jobs that I've had is that learning new things makes the experience better, without adding on the hassle of now being expected to do something else for the same amount. I'm good at office work; I always have been. Can't keep my house organized to save my life, but I can get an office to run super efficiently. Only trouble is, unless you have a really good boss, once you start doing extra stuff to help the business, that becomes an expectation. Oh, you're a secretary, but you found a way to speed up accounting, and you know how to do it well? Good, the boss can fire the accountant and save money by having YOU do it, along with the things you were already doing. I'm not saying all work environments are like this, but it's very hit or miss, and some of us can't afford to job-hop until we find the right "fit". We end up working jobs we hate because we can't afford to quit. With camming, if I find a way to improve my shows, then it shows in my paycheck. I earn every cent that I make, so if my paycheck is paltry, well, then that just means I need to work harder, find better angles, and improve.
So to the main question: Can I make a living off camming? It depends on what you consider a living. For me, "making a living" is paying rent, keeping the electricity on, and having enough to live. I'm not banking, but it pays my bills, and I'm grateful for that right now. I'm absolutely positive that I'll get better, though, and earn more, and be able to increase my quality of living. So yes, you can make a living off camming. It all depends on your perspective, your expectations, and your quality of life. I'm willing to take a smaller paycheck in exchange for a job that I actually enjoy.
I think it depends of if you can find the right site for you. You need to find a site that fits YOU!
Oh BOY do I hear you. DH says that I don't have to do this but realy I do. We barley scrape by MANY months because of my health and the kids who have health problems. (3 of the 5) I need to help him. I can't work a normal job because how sick I am. I have what is known as Nerofibromatosis type 1. It makes it hard to work because I have pain all over my body a lot of the time. It causes tumors to grow on the nerves and often (luck for me not in my case) the body can become disfigured from visible tumors. I have something called cafe au lait spots to. They are brown spots on the body.

The expression butter face comes from the saying " she is hot everything but her face" =butter face. Dancing is good for those hot body girls that have bad skin, teeth, and not very pretty in the face cause like mentioned earlier, dancing focuses more on the body and it's performance on a stage with dim lighting. On cam in HD its a bit harder to pull off, but it is easier for girls that are not in shape to dance since they don't need to be showing their whole body like on stage. Pros and cons to everything! I dance and cam so I am trying to take advantage of every outlet possible. Some days I make more money dancing, some days I make more money camming. The most I ever made in one night was dancinf, but I've been doing it longer than camming and its tax free so I prefer that. Right now I'm also working a vanilla job and cam before and after that job. I would never rely one just ONE job ever. Its hard as hell but I don't care I'm too paranoid of having an off week or month.
