Thanks for posting this.
I'm confused though - the women who were working for the agency in Vegas - why did they all have pimps, if they were with the agency?
The one that was interviewed said that she got hooked up w/the jerky boyfriend pimp, because he was a friend of the owner, and he was able to make her one of the "priority" agency girls, so that she was one of the first to get calls. But then she goes on to say "everyone" had a pimp at the agency, which makes no sense.
Edit: After watching a bit further, I think what they're calling "pimps" are really idiot douchebags that these women are hooked up with, prior to working for the agencies.

Thank you so much for posting! I had heard about this doc but hadn't been able to track it down. It's an interesting perspective but I can't say that it has been my experience at all. I feel like Vegas works differently than anywhere else.

well Amanda did write about it in her blog

I remember watching a documentary about high end escorting a few years back. A 27 year old woman with short beach blond hair was interviewed about her work and she said she slept with less than 10 clients the previous year and made 500k in a year. I think she said she worked for some agency.. I can't find anything about this online. Does anyone have more information on this? Sounds unreal.

Wow. So now you can now be a pimp and not do shit. I'm on the wrong end of the business lol!
Found it! Here it is
This is the whole thing but the video quality is quite bad.

I liked the section of the Nat Geo documentary where they interviewed the first escort - the lady w/the long blonde hair whose face was kept hidden. They portrayed her in a respectful light, and I also liked that they indicated that she was clearly very successful, even though she was clearly a more mature woman.
I saw that Amanda was very frustrated w/the whole experience. In my limited experience w/tv, unfortunately that wasn't unusual, for *any* topic. Producers these days want to make a show as cheaply as possible, and even though you would think a major network would be willing to pay for you to fly to them, put you in a hotel, etc, sometimes that is not the case. And of course she was concerned w/how they portrayed a lot of the industry. I think the smarter folks out there these days know you have to take what you see w/a grain of salt, and hopefully understand that what was shown was just a small segment of the business, and not necessarily 100% gospel. It is really annoying that for shows they make you shoot hours and hours of tape, often just to use one tiny little portion and often leave out the most interesting things that people have to say.
