Interesting question. One of the girls at work got bitten and her nipple was bleeding because of it. Extras could be more dangerous than previously imagined. I got a staph infection in the center of my chest from allowing guys to put their face between my breasts, their whiskers abrade the skin and then their runny nose secretions harbor the staph virus. Maybe a nine to five is in my future. Working in a strip club can be kinda gross and scary.

No.
Breast milk can transmit HIV to an individual or a baby from an HIV positive mother… however, it doesn’t work in reverse. Saliva has not been found to transmit HIV.
Check this out for more info.
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/qa/transmission.htm#
Staph, while horrible, gross, dangerous and potentially deadly is not a virus. It’s a common bacteria, which is probably sitting pretty on your skin (my skin and every one else's skin too) right now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staphylococcus
I can't even read her post, it makes me gag.... some nasty old customers whiskers scratching up the skin on your chest, then the juice from their runny noses all over the irritated scratched up area, probably burning. UGH. I would KILL the guy. For real.

It sure is O_O .
The clinic bill was about a hundred twenty five dollars. I used to think that girls who did low-contact air-dances were lame but I have realized they are the smart ones.
One girl got a skin disease at work that covered her entire body, she had to be hospitalized.
Ew Strip clubs are super dirty everything.. The rails u touch, The stage, the chairs, EVerything Yuck... Bring ur sanitizer! I remember that all too well

I am about to sew a blanket with a velvet side and a silky side w waterproof shit in between so I don't have to worry about crap. I caught MRSA on my face from work and thought it was heinous acne. I guess from touching shit and putting on makeup. ALWAYS wash your hands before applying makeup w your fingers. Hard lesson. There is a girl now who has a red mark on her back and I was like "Sweety, don't take this the wrong way but I think that's ringworm." She just casually said it is. I mentioned that it is REALLY contagious and she said she already knew that. I told her to put some jock itch cream or monistat on that shit. She just walked away...like oh well. I now wash in hot water, dial, and hibiclens after every shift. I also use anitfungal dandruff shampoo. I took off two weeks when my face was weird and got on antibiotics stat. Why can't other people just be respectful? I can ALMOST understand douchey customers, but the girls should fucking know better! She isn't new either.
^That is scary. You should mention shit like that to your manager she can't be walking around with an infectious disease right out in the open when it is her JOB to be in contact with people. She is more than likely going to spread it to over half the people who get dances with her. And what if some guy gets a dance with her and then with you after? Ugh! I already use a lot of hand sanitizer at work but now I am so much more grateful. The wierdest thing I've ever gotten is a mild rash or two that has gone away on its own. My area is very high contact but saliva is a big nono anywhere for me...Even just the super high likelyhood of contracting a cold let alone something worse...I do not have the time to be sick all the time no matter what extra $ I could be looking at

I know I should say something. I haven't seen her since I said something to her, so maybe she took it to heart but was just embarrassed. If it is still there the next time I see her, I plan to mention it to management. I fucking hate being the one to have to say shit. Inconsiderate nastiness.

Lately I have been making a point to wash my hands every time I get off stage.

Sometimes it is hard to get back to the dressing room while working, so what I've done is I carry a small dial hand sanitizer bottle with me in my 'ho-bag.' When I finish doing LDs I stay in the booth and literally wash up in it (high contact club) before I go back on the floor. I was starting to get stripper butt pimples (you know what I'm talking about) and this has really helped to keep it under control. I always make sure to put plenty all over my ass, thighs and boobies and anywhere else the custie might have touched me.
Another tip is to squirt some onto your hands before getting on stage and give the pole a good 'sensual' rub before you wrap your legs around it or lean your body against it. I started at a new club and there is just a dry rag left close to the stage (and not even every stage) and I imagine that that just rubs the dirt around instead of cleaning anything. So, hand sanitizer to the pole!
Also, in my gym bag I carry a jumbo size bottle of hand sanitizer and refill as needed.
The only downside to putting hand sanitizer on so often for 8 hours is that I have ashy skin nowBut ashy skin is better than ringworm or staph infections, right?

^ Actually it's better to just wash with soap. Antibactirails are what cause super bugs. We didn't have these fllesh eating things or bad staph outbreaks when I started dancing and people weren't going crazy with hand sanitizers and stuff. If your worried wash with soap alot and rub the pole down with alcohol. I watched a program on the discovery channel about atibacterials and how bad they really are.

Nope.
Super wrong.
You have misinterpreted anecdotal evidence.
I have some bad news for you... many SOAPS... you know like Dial.... contain triclosan..... which has antibacterial properties.
If you want to consider the real culprits, look towards ANTIBIOTICS. Not antibacterial soaps/sanitizers/etc.
I hose down with my Purell after a VIP/Champagne room. Seriously. And if I have an infection that I need to get rid of, I will certainly utilize a truckload of antibiotics to deal with it.
As far as I know, these superbugs exist and are transmitted in HOSPITALS and other medical establishments.
I have caught strep in an emergency room. I was there for an unrelated reason... and 3-4 days later I was being shot up with something akin to morphine to deal with the pain of my horrendous infection (strep throat).
Those establishments (hospitals, etc.) have a great deal of germy folks coming in 24/7. They disinfect with UV light, hardcore cleansers, bleach, lysol, and utilize some of the most intense antibiotics known to man-kind.
In that do-or-die environment germs can mutate, evolve, and go-buck-wild. Only the toughest pathogens survive. (new reality show maybe???)
Should folks forego hospitals & emergency rooms? I think not. Should any individual forego washing with an antibacterial soap? I think... NOT.
That being said...
Sanitizers are akin to SOAP.... and both should be utilized to protect the individual who is using that stuff. I don't want jerk-off germs on my pole so I will douse it with alcohol and set it on fire if need be. I don't want dirty custy germs on my body, so I have no problem purelling.
EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! wash your hands, use sanitizer, use rubbing alcohol, use hibiclense, etc. Don't spread the dirty to custies or co-workers.
EDIT+++++
One more thing.
++++++++++++
SW strippers! PLEASE don't work when you're sick. PLEASE, please, Puhleeeeeeezeee, don't work when you have a cold, flu, infection, or any other contagious condition. If you feel like your customer may have some sort of ailment wash up before touching the pole, communal dressing room items, or your other co-workers.

A big reason why I left dancing for camming is that I was ALWAYS sick. Just being around customers and having a weak immune system already, I would catch EVERYTHING. I either had a sore throat, felt dizzy, felt weak, or was legit sick like at all times. I don't miss that. Now with camming I'm rarely really sick, or if I am, its only for a day or 2. That and being forced to be on schedule (hard to make it to pre-selected shifts when you never know when you'll be sick due to customers/dancers ignorance & disrespect) just started to make it not worth it for me anymore.

Truth. Whenever I took a break and came back I would be ill within the first 2 weeks. After 3+ months of dancing full time, I would be invincible.
Damn viral evolution/mutation. Damn germy-germs.
I actually worry about taking prolonged breaks because strippah-sickness always hits me hard when I come back.

Well I've heard the opposite and dousing yourself with anitibactrial is killing good and bad bacteria you have on your body and over doing it. My mom who's 70 and been an registered nurse for over 40 years taught me to wash my hands frequently and I get sick like once every 10 years and I travel and am on planes at least 10 times a year. I also don't get that shit on my ass most dancers get and I don't douse myself in anitbacteials.

^ I don't know how to post a lin but go to and reas should antibacterial soap be outlawed.

It's not working. Do a google search and the discovery health article should come up. Basically they are doing the same thing as antibiotics to cause super germs.
There you go.
Are you able to catch stds from the pole? I know you can catch herpes from contact with the inner thigh, and one of the clubs I dance for doesn't take good care of the poles, they are always slippery and always caked in nasty who knows what. Is a shower at the end of the day enough to prevent some of the nasty stuff we are talking about?

Meh.
Read this: http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...ease-EMERGENCY!!
P.S. Showers are good. Being careful is better.
Thank you!!!!!

I think that triclosan and other antibacterials should not be used on a daily basis by the general public, butti when you KNOW for a fact that there are dangerous bacteria present then there is reason to use them. Hand cleaning can be accomplished with any soap and enough time and friction, it is rammed near impossible to get the body that cleab without a little help. Hibiclens is not something bugs will become resistant too. I think...I read something about that a while back, but I might be mixing it up with other stuff. Alcohol dries and cracks skin and makes you more susceptible for bacteria to enter deeper into the body. I also take garlic, probiotics, turmeric and a few other supplements along w B vitamins and Vitamin C to enhance immune function. Lower alcohol intake, get enough sleep, increase water intake...really does help.
can i throw it out there to use common sense at work? im not afraid to be a germaphobe..no i dont douse my body in sanitizer but i wash my hands often, i dont take money in my g-string because money is disgusting!, i dont sit on custies if i dont have full bottoms on, and i certainly would never let a guy wipe his nose in my breasts! i am not afraid to tell customers that certain bahavior is jsut not sanitary and im not gross, and they have always understood, and if not whatever... also, just take your vitamins and get sleeps, like spf said be healthy and keep your immune system strong! you dont have to go overboard with chemicals and sanitzers just use your brain and be clean!
