Default For exotic dancers--chiropractor or massage?

Chiropractor or massage debate. Which one is better for us? I know girls who swear to seeing the chiropractor once a week and others who swear my a massage therapist. I don't know which one for me is. Which one do you think is more beneficial to dancers? Or is some combination of the two the most beneficial to our health and well being? Our bodies take a beating on stage...

I believe a combination of the two are best. A chiropractor works with bones while a massage therapist works with muscle. So while you could go get an adjustment from your chiropractor and he gets you in alignment, if your muscles are all wound up and too tense, it could just push you right back out of alignment. And vise versa. If you go get a massage to relax your muscles, but your spine (or whatever needs adjusting) is out of alignment, your muscles have to work harder to overcompensate for your bones that are out of alignment. So your muscles wont be able to fully relax, and will end up just as tense as before. The two compliment eachother very well. I would go with both. I personally like to see my chiropractor and get a massage about once a month. But frequency just depends on what is going on with your body.

^ I do both too. I just started the chiro thing a few years ago as I never believed in them but if you've been in accidents they do help and I've been doing massage for around 15 years. Though the more you go the more you get used to it and have to go more especially when doing deep tissue massage.

Both! Make sure you find a good chiro who can also give you exercises to help support your adjustment and prevent muscle strain. I am a chiro in Atlanta.

Hopefully it's different in the US, but here in Canada NEVER go to a chiropractor, period. They have no standards of care. That's pretty much the biggest red flag imaginable.
