wow. to me that seems like a big waste of time lol its been months for me and i still can't lose the last 5-10 pounds i'm thinking holy fuck 70 POUNDS??? after you already look good??

but i read it and good for him for wanting to experience the real challenges. some naturally skinny/better genes ppl don't understand that some people don't choose to be fat, its just harder for them to lose weight, which turns into a mental and emotional struggle as well. which makes it harder to lose weight. bad cycle

You picked up on what I did when I read this, there is a mental side effect but more important there is a physical side effect to eating Twinkies for a diet. There is a insulin response that is more of a physical response when eating sugar & carbs that causes lethargy & a NOT motivated feeling.

The chemical response is what people don't understand, mental is easier but both combined is what I see when people ask for help.

Jess, the thing to understand in his study is, he had a plan & in his plan he felt what his clients were feeling, granted for a moment & changed. His feelings weren't the same as a individual that has been obese all their life but as close as you can come. He did feel what it was to be fit & wanted that more than the eating & indulging, classic empathy & knowledge as to overcome.

Sometimes when I'm carrying something heavy up the stairs (usually groceries), I imagine "What if this wasn't a bag and was actually ON me?". Life would be SO much more uncomfortable to be that overweight. Huffing and puffing every time you move around must feel like ass.
