    Default fine lines on forehead

    Hello ladies,

I have some lines on my forehead that even if I hydrate really well with moisturizer and drink plenty of water, I still have them. I guess the age is catching up!

I have had Botox before in my forehead. It helps a little bit but the shallow crease from the line is still there. Should I try doing microdermabrasion to try to get rid of that superficial line, and then do botox and then do a filler? I have never done a filler for lines. Any recommendations on filler brands?

I will try doing a search around the website too for answers. But if you can give me advice that would be great. Thanks big time

Just a non-surgical recommendation: when I was a teenager and into my early 20s, I would stick a piece of tape on my forehead in between my eyebrows when I was at home by myself. Usually when I was on the computer, watching tv or the like. That way if I was scrunching up my face, I would feel it and cut it out.

    It's paid off.

Have you told your injector that you want to get rid of this particular line? I've been getting botox forever but I always had a fine line that ran accross the middle of my forehead much like you are describing, that was present even after botox treatments. At my last appointment I told my injector that this line had never been affected by any of my botox treatments and asked him if he could try to pay specific attention to it and he injected me completely different than I have been routinely injected...if that makes sense...and voila!

Thanks ladies. I will try microderm, and have been trying to be conscious about not wrinkling my forehead. Like the tape idea! Really helps break the habit.

I told my injector that I do want to get rid of that line, but he says well if he does too much up there it will make one of my eyebrows droop...some kind of vague stuff like that. I will try asking him again specifically like you said, say the botox never helped that particular line. Maybe he just doesnt want to do a complete job because he wants me to then spend money on fillers...haha the money gravytrain. But I do think that I didn't really clearly and strongly addressed the issue to him about that one particular line. I will try babbling less with him so he doesn't get confused and focuses on that one concern. Sometimes I can be too chatty. Maybe that's it. Maybe he can do a mini amount to try to help that one area. Thanks so much ladies!!! You're all the best!!

where is the line? If it's around the upper eyebrow area, don't touch it with botox unless you want to look like the geico caveman. It WILL drop your brow.

LOL @ geico caveman description. Yes it is above my eyebrow. Vertically it's position is at the halfway mark between my hairline and the top of my eyebrow..so about an inch above my eyebrow. So maybe that is why he does not want to touch that spot? I have heard about injections either dropping the eyebrow or making them spike up really high creating an unpleasant surprised eyes look.

I will ask him again the next time I go, but since the line isn't in the middle of the forehead, but rather directly above an eyebrow, that is why he can't do anything about it. I will just place a piece of tape over that area whenever I am home to get better at training myself at keeping that area still.

Thanks. Yeah I guess I will ask him if he can do it verrry carefully... if it's not a danger zone area. It's worth asking you're right. In the mean time will do the tape-training trick until my appointment

I had them since I'm 13. It turns out it's genetics.

What about in between your brows? I have one line vertically in between my brows, and 2 lines horizontally on my mid-forehead. All genetics. Which should I keep away from botox?

The tape works really well. At night I wash my face, moisturize and put tape on every spot where I don't want a wrinkle. Between the eyes, corner of the mouth, etc. I know a lot of women do this (successfully). It is a common practice. I think it will even fade scars given time because your skin believes it is scabbed over and the skin underneath regenerates (the tape is a barrier, like a scab that allows the skin to regenerate)

My mother is amazed at how beautiful my skin is.

I do some other things too. I could write a book about it. What you want me to share all my fabulous secrets?

Botox definitely will help your lines between your eyebrows. That is a common area requested to be injected. I think the 2 lines horizontally mid-forehead should be fine to be injected with botox too...as they are not anywhere really above your eyebrows. That's what I think... not 100% sure

Thanks for the ideas. Great way to be more conscious about the ways one scrunches up their face in ways that can compromise a smooth face down the road.

Oh and Glamorrouge thanks for the hilarious caveman picture

GlamourRouge, hit the glabella hard, and corrugator muscles........ Do a tiny bit under the outer corner of your eyebrow, and hit the upper forehead area hard, don't forget all the way up to the hairline...
