I noticed that quite a few of us on this board are struggling to get a job. So I decided to create a thread where we can share all sorts of interview questions and analyze their answers along with the underlying motive of respective employers. I want to purposely start out this thread with a simple scenario with the intention of analyzing more complex screening scenarios later if there is some interest in this thread.

There are many types of jobs out there which means all sorts of screening processes exist.

The first thing a candidate has to ask herself is that has she chosen a field where she can offer maximum competition. This is an important aspect of your career process. If you goof up here, you are bound to face misery in your entire job (slave) life.

Once you have identified your calling, the rest is small stuff which often means gathering up enough skills and experiences, you would think. Is that so? I do not think so. The real challenge begins when you are convinced that you can do the job but the man who can hire you is not convinced. That is where the screening process comes in which can be brutal and cold and leaves many people broken.

The objective of this thread is to analyze various types of interview questions and their underlying motives. I hope lots of you would care to share your experiences here and may be we can all learn from each other.

I will go first.

A while back when I was young and handsome, I had an interview in Chicago. I had to catch a long flight from home. So it is needless to say that I was extremely tired on the day of my interview. I moved from various stages of interview smoothly then at the end, I was brought to my final challenge, the woman in whose hands lied my faith; the boss lady who did the hiring and firing asked me a very pointed question. “What do you bring to the table?”

I will pass that question to you. What do you bring to the table? I will share my answer later but I want to hear your answers first.
