Default How did you choose your club?

I'm in a city and trying to decide which club to choose for my first audition. I'm not sure which one to pick. I was just curious how everyone else chose their own first club. Was there only one choice? Did you like the music? The atmosphere?

On that note, how did you choose the club you're currently at? Would you rather be working somewhere else?

I'm trying to find somewhere that plays rock as opposed to urban/electronic/hip hop. Just a personal preference. Other than that, I'm just looking for somewhere safe that will give a newbie a chance. =]

Clubs & Reviews on here and TUSCL (as in, where to avoid) have been my main deciding factors when I didn't have any secondhand information about clubs in the area.

TUSCL seems to be the best resource out there. AS a dancer, I post reviews that are geared toward dancers. Most reviews are about customers; they either give a rather objective opinion of the club, or talk about the extras they claim they got.

I work in Alberta, and I found the only club that doesn't let patrons throw change at the dancers. I have no idea why this is a thing...

But yeah, couldn't imagine myself working anywhere else. We have a lot of older regulars and the environment is very loungey.

Take what is written on TUSCL with a grain of salt. Working in a club is a LOT different than visiting one- what patrons like about a club may not be the same thing that a dancer likes.

I chose my first club because a friend of mine danced there. But I also liked the atmosphere. A lot of friendly dancers. I had gone there prior as a customer and I liked what i saw. They played the type of music I felt comfortable dancing too. They also were tattoo friendly.

I kind of love this question. I'm tired of newbies coming on here and being all, "where should I dance?!" I'm glad to see you acknowledge that factors go into it.

Do you want to work at a "titty bar" or a "gentleman's club"?
    Do you have tattoos?
Do you want the option of getting nude?
How much are you comfortable paying in house fees?
Do you want a short or slightly more longer thus anonymous commute?
Do you want to make most of your money on stage or in lap dances?
Look around TUSCL and go from there.

    Me personally ...

    I like cheesey gentleman's clubs
    I have no tattoos
I like the option of getting nude in dances for more money
I am experienced enough to not mind slightly house fees as long as I find them reasonable
I take the long (one hour) commute to this club because along with the factors mentioned about I can pick my own schedule and come and go as I please which is my number one priority.

    Good luck!

Word of mouth. I asked on here, I asked other dancers. I worked in the local, easy to get to club and asked the girls where else they worked/have worked and what the places were like.
I found the club I work in now by chatting to a dancer on here who lived nearish me , and I didn't know her but we became very friendly with one another and I am pleased to say I still work in that club and like it a lot.

Personally, I bank better in 'downmarket' clubs. I don't see this as a reflection on me personally, I am from a middle class background and have two degrees... I see it as a product of my comfort zone-sounds daft and perhaps superiority-complex ish, but I feel better talking to customers if I feel that I am (usually) of a certain calibre compared to them. I don't like to feel intimidated or struck down, I like to impress and be able to feel as if I can work the customers in a club.
I prefer the option of being nude, I don't mind a bit of a commute but I'm not bothered if I don't have one-I don't live near where I grew up so not any chance of bumping into my Dad's best bud or anything like that , anyway.

I tried out a bunch of clubs for at least a month, trying out different days of the week & different shifts. I'm at my current club because it matches my hustle & staff is professional.

I chose my first club because it was the shittiest little place around, for a couple of reasons: I knew I wouldn't embarrass myself too badly while I figured it out, the odds of getting rejected were much lower than they would be at a nicer club, and I just had some major self-confidence issues.

Turns out it was an AWESOME place to learn the ropes. Nearly every dancer there was a seasoned pro, and a few of them helped me out a bit. I learned more from working six months at that place than ANY other club I've been to since. It prepared me nicely

I looked for the club that I felt most comfortable at. That's a big deal to me. If I don't feel comfortable in a club, I won't make much money there. This goes with "how do I fit in?", "Do the managers treat the girls well?", "Do the the bouncers and waitresses and VIP hosts/esses do their job?" "Are the girls catty bitches?" etc etc....

I also looked to see if there a lot of extras given there. I don't want a dirty place.

    Low house fees/tip outs.

How many options to upsell does the club offer? Do I have chances to make more money?

    Great question!

Along with what everyone else said, the major thing I look for:

Is the club set up to make me money?
-Do they have gambling machines and TVs that distract from the dancers?
-Do the dance prices make sense? (i.e. you should make more money off of VIPs / CRs than a normal private dance, NOT less)
    -Are there upsell opportunities?
-What's the club's cut of the dances, percentage-wise? Is it fair?

It is SO easy to spot a dive / 'dumb' club by looking at the dance prices. Dumb dance prices attract a certain crowd.

I never rely put much though into it. Just went to the most popular upscale club in the area. Other than that, just word of mouth.

when i was a new dancer? I just called up a bunch of clubs and went to the *only* club that was polite and helpful to me on the phone as someone who never danced. Most of the clubs i called up seemed very annoyed by my newbie questions. One club though was super polite and friendly towards me. It turned out to be one of the most ghetto clubs in cleveland, but the management was super nice and it was a good place to get my start before i left for nicer clubs.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
