    Default New Orleans Dancer Murdered

I was surprised to not see this posted yet. It's an extremely sad and sickening story. This young lady was last seen leaving her club that night after work and was found dismembered in a Mississippi river. This article goes into more detail, and of course the headlines all mention her as a stripper/exotic dancer.

Two more are missing. That's a lot for a city of 300,000. Plus everyone in the clubs on Bourbon all knows each other. NOLA girls please be careful.

Reminds me of when my dancer club buddy was found naked and dead in the hills of a city where she didn't live. I was never the same after hearing about it. In fact, I started working less & less in my city and then couldn't do it anymore. Something offputting about it. People just like to take their rage out on pretty girls...

i posted this link in the other thread, but this is video footage of couple last seen with the dancer, from temptations security tapes: http://www.wlox.com/story/18770141/v...with-murdered-

anyway, of other missing girls: i keep getting mixed info from various sources, but the other missing girls are not necessarily dancers. etiher way, crime is up in general and there is some bizarre shit going on, so if you are a chick in new orleans, be extra careful.

customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

^ Guns are ALWAYS the problem AJ. Never peoples responsibility, always the weapon itself. You know that.

I cannot help but note that the body of the murdered girl showed evidence of being stabbed to death. Which tells me that A. - if she had carried a pistol and trained in it's proper use, the other person would literally have had a knife in a gun fight, and that B. - obviously anything bigger or sharper than the butter knife should be restricted or outright banned, because knives are dangerous and kill people.

While I don't think discussion of self defense is off topic here, I'll stop. Any word on finding the couple she was last seen with? I can't seem to find any updates on the story. Stuff like this is very upsetting, especially when stupid shit like the Zimmerman/Martin thing is STILL national headline news. That was a confrontation gone bad, happens every day, and only gets attention because of the race issue. What we have here is far worse, an intentional homicide and calculated disposal of the body and evidence. Why is this story - and ones like it - not much bigger news?

guns were not the cause of death. regardless, my take on this, as someone who is outside a lot at night in one of the most dangerous cities in america, is if someone has a one up on you they have a one up on you. if someone catches you off guard, having a gun, a knife, mace, or a tazer isnt gonna save your life. more often than not, these just give you false sense of security., so girls, please dont go roaming around solo by yourself and think you are ok becasue you are packing.

Just to update, the couple who was last seen with her at the club are now sitting in jail on unrelated charges, but they were changed from persons of interests to suspects. After Jaren went missing last week, the female suspect deleted her facebook and the couple dyed their hair red & blue. The man also tried to run from the cops when they were found. They're totally suspicious.

Also, it's just rumors, but supposedly the couple went around to the Bourbon St. clubs that night and tried to take girls home with them for a threesome, but when the dancers were turning them down, the lady changed the story to wanting to take a girl to do a private party for $700-800, and that her boyfriend would be the bouncer.

That's seriously messed up. Other than always make sure you have backup and people know where you are and where you're going, I don't even know what to say. I hope they get what they deserve.

At least they have leads...a lot of cases have nothing. Hope they get this couple in for questioning and keep them out of the clubs the sneaky fks.

Christ ... I'm from that damned city. Please girls, be extra careful : ( Especially if you also live in New Orleans, because you should know that there are some GD psychopaths in that city. Please, please, please, if you live there (or anywhere really), do not go off and leave your club with anybody. No amount of promised money is worth your life or safety. Stay in your club. There are all kinds of people who visit Bourbon St. and you never ever know what kind of person someone who is trying to lead you out of your club is. Just say no, stay at your workplace. This is really sad and scary : ( Again, please be careful girls, I don't want to hear another story like this. Mind your security measures and stick to them!

Kalisha Madden, a dancer from Detroit went missing since last year. She left the club with a man, now nowhere to be found. No suspects brought in- nothing.

Another dancer in NJ was found dead in some bushes. I wondered to myself if she knew the person she met up with. There is a sick killer, possibly with a wife/gf or children, just walking around like he's a decent person. It upset me so much I almost cried.

Sad Re: New Orleans Dancer Murdered

I am fond of NOLA and while there I met some of the friendliest, most "real" down-to-earth dancers. This is so distressing.

Ah, but it's not a cute "innocent" All-American (preferrably white, blonde, from a middle class family) co-ed sweetheart... Those end up on the news shows getting repeated publicity until the public is sick of it. OTOH, we know why these victims are ignored, don't we, we know why they don't send show hosts screaming for blood on the air several times a day

here's one reason why it probably is being kept relatively quiet- we dont want it to dent our tourism. or tarnish our image with superbowl 2013 coming up.

i think most murders in nola get swept under the rug. had this not involved missisipi i doubt it would have even made the news.

Ah. Being from Vegas, THAT actually makes sense. The only crimes that make the news here are ones on the strip that are solved quickly, or ones more than a mile off the strip. Thou shalt not disturb the tourism industry...

I think it's best if you watch your back wherever you are in the world. Not just areas where murders have made it into the media.
Yes murders everywhere are swept under the rug, and even haven't been discovered yet.

You should be extra cautious, especially in this industry - Trust no one but yourself.. No matter how genuine they are, or how much they offer you.
Your life just isn't worth it.
