I first created a lighting page on iFriends, sold it to them, then, well, who the heck knows what happened to it. Anyway, I just recently created another, albeit, not quite as elaborate but I do plan on adding more tips on this topic. Lighting is a science that for some reason, even the best photographers/videographers in the world, have trouble with - constantly! That in mind, feel free to use this as a guideline and work your personal cam settings and colors around this. Test how close or far the lights should be in proximity to the subject (you). Also, if there's glare, you might want to consider using a diffuser.
From what I can see of the pic you posted, your image is slightly pale. Like myself, you could just be one of those pale people.

I play with the cam settings of my camcorder to adjust that and add color to my skin. My cam is so wonderful, in conjunction with the right lighting, I can make it appear that I have a suntan.
I'd suggest to use the cam settings to add sharpness, saturation and perhaps add a diffuser, if you find the lights too harsh or creating too many unwanted shadows.
I have to ask though - Your entire room is well lit. Is that because that pic was taken during daylight or was that taken at night with lots of light, including a strong overhead light?
