Okay ladies--now for the UPDATE:::
I went to another dentist the very next morning and he examined my teeth and said that the temporary filling the other dentist had put in my mouth was unhealthy because it was touching my other tooth. He said I would need general anesthesia and that the anesthesiologist would be in on 6/26/2012. He wasn't even able to barely put his fingers in my mouth to check the tooth in question (tooth number 18 for those who are studying dentistry) without my gag reflex starting up again. Anyways, the billing department gave me a quote of $829.65. This is money that I don't currently have at the moment. To top it off my father's having (more than just) a cow about it.
Also, just a reminder: I had surgery to correct a cleft in my soft pallet when I was 1 year old, so therefore the nerves in my mouth are rearranged. I tried getting the numbing Novocaine, but because of my surgery, I have a rogue piece of gum tissue that will lodge into my gag reflex region, making me dry heave every time I am numbed around tooth 18. There is literally no other way to get this done. General Anesthesia is my only option here!
Anyways, I considered and went through my options, here are the results:
1. Care Credit: I applied and called the number. They told me I wasn't qualified because I had "insufficient credit history on file". Even with monthly child support payments of $454 they still wouldn't take me.
2 Personal Loans (such as prosper.com, etc.): I applied and was told basically the same thing. Not enough credit history on file.
3. Local church: They have a "benevolence fund" and said they wouldn't be able to help me pay the bill.
4. Bank Loans: HA! Not with my credit or lack thereof!
After those three fiascoes, I finally went and created a page at gofundme.com. You'll notice I put more than the $829.65 bill because gofundme.com takes a portion of the funds I raise. I don't have to raise the entire amount listed on gofundme.com, just enough to where after they take their fees, I have the $829.65 to pay the dental bill.
Here's one last thing: I have the appointment on 6/26/2012 at 0800 to get this work done. I am literally sweating bullets over this.
If there is ANY WAY that any of you can help me out on this, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!
