So I'm totally new to this, but dang you gals make some big money, so decided to give this a whirl as my 9-5 office job barely covers the mortgage after my ex moved out last year. Gold and Silver is the only club in the area (SW VA). I actually went up there last year and they said I could start that same night, but I wasn't ready grooming wise if you know what I mean, so I said I'd come back the next night. But my boyfriend at the time threw a huge fit, so I did not go back. I was nervous as hell anyways, so a bit relieved it was not going to be an option for me.
But I digress...so I drove up there (45 min drive) lookin' good, mini black dress with black boots. Also I'm 5-7, 120, 34A, trim but really toned, short brown hair, white girl. I'm attractive, but definitely a different look, more athletic look and more striking features than "pretty". I must say this place is considered a dive, like you need a scuba suit you're diving so low. So I see the bouncer up front to get the application. He is really talking to me, saying how he's big time in the club and helps out all the newbies, that I most likely have a job, that they don't do auditions. He said "you're a decent looking girl, well, I mean your above average, so you should do fine". Then he starts talking about a REAL hottie who just started that night (I'm guessing he means blond, big boobs...). So I'm waiting for the manager to come out, chatting to the bouncer and to customers. One guy already asked if I'd be in there and the bouncer said, hell yeah just give her 5 minutes. I'm getting excited, might make some money tonight!
Then the manager comes out.
He won't look me in the eye or barely at me all. He says I'll call you in a couple weeks when we have an opening, shakes my hand, and walks back inside the club. WTF? I was a little awkward talking about stripping...well I did say HI my name is _____. Well that s my REAL name!" a little dorky perhaps, but not totally a job killer, right? So I leave, and I'm wondering if I made a faux pas, if I didn't have the right look, or if I actually have a job but it seemed like I was being blown off?
Any and all comments and questions, welcome!!!

I wear wigs occasionally when I don't feel like using the flatiron on my hair. (I'm in the process of bleaching it platinum blonde so I try to avoid heat styling it as much as I can)
