    Default Would you go back?

Hey ladies, I need some input here...
A few years ago, I was working at a club nearby my apartment-as in, less than half a mile away. I did great there, had lots of regulars etc..but got burned out and needed a break from club dancing. About a month later, a customer from the club showed up at my house! I asked him how he found me and he wouldn't tell me..I told him in no uncertain terms to never show up here again or I would get a restraining order. He never did, but he still occasionally sends me messages on FB that I refuse to read (I still don't know how he found my real name, or address.) A year later, ANOTHER customer left me a note on my doorstep, addressed to my real name.
Fast forward to now, I've mostly been doing private parties and worked at a few other clubs, but they've all been about an hour's drive away and I just never felt truly comfortable at any of them. The last club I worked at was just so slow and I didn't stick around long enough to make regulars. I am really tempted to go back to my old club-I just hate the driving, and being "new" at a club, and miss a lot of the girls I worked with and of course, the money. But to this day, I can't be 100% certain that someone at that club wasn't giving out my personal info. How could 2 customers figure out where I live? (To be fair, I never filled out paperwork at this club, so they had no record of my real name or address.) For a while, I though it was a certain dancer who once accused me of "stealing" her regulars, but she only knew my real first name.
So, would you chance it and go back? If I do, should I tell the managers not to let those 2 customers in the club? Or would you just avoid the club and consider all the traveling, less money, etc as a trade-off for personal safety??

    So creepy.

Could the customers have followed you or your car (since you live nearby) and then made a mental note on where to find you?

I feel it's more an issue of overzealous regulars getting all "(bizarrely) romantical" than vindictive co-workers. Is there a possibility that a regular, aware of your address, could reverse engineer a method to finding your name? Could one of them have gotten hold of your mail... and discovered your full name that way?

It's more likely a bunch of love-lorn custie NUTJOBS.... than an actual malicious campaign.

Proximity can be a major problem. As can co-workers. I learned this the hard way: http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...es-my-facebook!

In my opinion, I'd go back to work in the nearby club but remain reticent when it comes to personal info (you know this already, I'm just reiterating). Going home, I would consider hiring a surly driver once in a while and taking a round-about route to your home. Or you can leave earlier/later than the club closes to avoid any untoward attention. I would also beef up your security, whether that be ADT, multiple locks, and/or some other form of home protection... I may avoid the club for some time or only work on sporadic nights... but at this point, since it is so hinky... splitting your time between a couple of clubs may not be a bad idea.

You can ask a club to forbid the offending customers from coming in but I worry, for you, that this can inspire crazier ramifications.

All in all, it's a very spooky subject.

I'm concerned for you and hope that things work out ok.

Also, consider telling your co-workers/crazy-custies that you moved. Mention it casually. If you are familiar with an area in a neighboring town (just to throw them off) you could mention that you've been busy moving or (to the custies) that you need a tip to take care of some of your moving expenses.

Thanks Sophia Your scenario of how they found me is very plausible, though I was pretty careful driving home after work. Good info, thanks for looking out.

1/2 mile that is really really close...I run into former customers around the city and ironically pretty frequently in my neighbourhood. Even though the closest club I worked at to my home was a good couple miles away. I think how freaked out you should be about the situation depends on a couple factors: how large/metropoloitian is the area you live/work? I think it is a lot more out of their way--read--creepy for them to be tracking you down like this if you're in the suburbs or another comparibly less populous area. On the other hand, if you live downtown in a major city, it is possible that many of the club customers live and work in the neighbourhood as well and they could have found you almost by accident--they saw you at a grocery store, coffee shop, etc, or just walking around and saw you walk into your building/house. Also did these customers exhibit other creepy behaviour or ever ask invasive or personal questions?

I think you should go back to the club if you liked it and it was good but money but that is awfully close proximity to be living to the club...it seems to me it would be exceptionally easy for customers to find out where you live and it also may invite robbery...that's the other thing I would be worried about with customers knowing where you live...strippers are prime targets for robbery, lots of cash around and people know that.

If you haven't already, I would consider moving, espescially if it seems like these guys tracking you down would have involved a lot of sleuthing on their part and they didn't just happen to find out where you live, because you are neighbours or something like that. And even then...if you have any small desires to move--want an upgrade, bigger place, nicer place, etc. well, now just might be perfect timing, at least consider it, because that will set your mind at ease for sure.
