    Default flacky scalyiness on eyelids?

I noticed the other day when putting on my daily face care that I had some scaliness on my eyelids right were the bottom meets the top lid. So I went to a deramatologist and he seemed perplexed as to what it really was but didn't want to act like he wasn't sure. He basically said it was some kind of inflammation and wanted to prescribe me drops I asked are you sure I would think I would need a cream (because I know steroids in the eye can be dangerous) and then he was going to call the other derm in because his wife was an eye doctor and maybe he would know. I was like well maybe I should go elsewhere if your UNSURE he was like no I know what I need to prescribe you but I don't do it often so. Anyway I went to fill the script and they didn't even know what it was, fast forward two days and the drips are 100 for something he didn't even seem to know about? So I call them back and the nurse says he doesn't know what else to prescribe since he's not familiar with those meds and it's not his area of expertise. I'm like then why didn't he just tell me that so I wouldn't have wasted time and money just to have to go to another doctor???? Has anyone had this? What were you prescribed. I'm perplexed as to what to do? Go to another derm or opthamologist? They didn't even ask what the nature of my appointment was when I called. I think they shouldn't charge my insurance and give me my 40 dollar copay back

^ I haven't worn any makeup in 3 weeks. I also haven't used any new products well except new shampoo. How long did it take to go away twinkle toes? Yeah I called a huge eye clinic by my house and she said to see the derm there and if he didn't know I could see an opthamologist there. WTF. Another place my mom recommended me to said they would put me with an octioplast surgeon. Doctors today are clueless. So tomorrow I'm going to st lukes eye center and see what they say since the octioplast couldn't get me in for a week and I need this gone since I'm leaving in a few weeks for another work trip. I had something similar years ago but it was on my lash line and I went to a opthamologist and he prescribed me drops and it went away but it was that bleph forget exactly what it was called.

I wished they would have asked me the nature of my visit when I called so I wouldn't have wasted my time but he acted like he knew what it was, then when I called the nurse was like well he told you he didn't deal with this blah blah. No he said he wasn't sure of the medicine. It just sucks because now it's going untreated longer and costing me more since I pay 40 copay and 20% of the visit and I'm not sure the eye doctors covered.

This happens to me every time I fall asleep with glittery eye makeup on. Never thought to ask a doctor about it.

Ugh I can't wait to go to the other doctor tomorrow! This is so uncomfortable feeling. I hope it goes away and never comes back! Weird it would happen when I haven't even worm makeup in 3 weeks. Now it makes me worry I'm going to start getting it all the time when I wear makeup and when I'm out of town. Damn I'm such a worry wart!

I wear glitter on my top eyelid when I work and I take it off before bed but I've woken to a scratched eye inside because some glitter got inside or I took it off wrong. That's s uncomfortable, I need to get that eye wash and use it until the glitter comes out and it feels better.

I went to an opthamologist for a vision issue I was having. When the Dr examined my eyes very closely, she saw that I had some dry flakiness happening around the base of my lashes that was probably the cause of my constantly dry eyes. It wasn't an infection, more of a minor irritable skin issue. She prescribed me an antibiotic cream I smear on at night that fixed it right up. The cream has a petroleum-like texture, so it causes a little smeary-vision that is a non-issue before going to bed. And it's CHEAP! I had insurance, but she said it would've been about $10 without it.

I have dry eyes a lot. Sometimes my eyes feel itchy and gritty too. I think I'm just going to see if I can see the opthamologist I saw 4years ago there since he knew what I had on my lids last time but she put me with a dermatologist there so we'll see I go in an hour and a half. Oh what exactly did they diagnose you with? Did the creme burn? That's why they say they don't like using creme around the eye because it could possibly damage the eye itself.

Eczema? Or maybe a food allergy. I get psoriasis on my eyelids sometimes, but only when I eat gluten.

hmm this happened to a friend of mine, turns out the chemicals in her nail polish would terribly irritate the skin when she rubbed her eyes.

^ He just said it was blepharitis and prescribed me a creme instead. He didn't with a scope? Since it's so hard to see you think these doctors would examine it more thoroughly but anyways the creme is hella expensive too but I'll try it and hopefully this never returns. Especially since they were like don't wear any makeup if you can help it, that won't be a problem for a few weeks anyways.

I read that online when I was doing research. I only paint my toe nails and haven't in a month ( I know gross) but I have a fractured toe. Seems many things can cause this and what he diagnosed me with is just a general condition but I had that before and it seems different but a lot of these conditions are treated with steroid type medications so we'll see if that helps. They also gave me this wash to use on my lids( not really confident that will do anyting).

Yeah the drmatologist should have scraped off a piece and had it analyzed in a lab. Weird he/she didn't. You should go to another one.

^ I've already been to two. It's not psoriasis or dermatits I looked at pics. Anyways he prescribed me an antibiotic corticosteriod creme. Basically thats what they treat most eye conditions with so hopefully it works.

"blepharitis" - Yep, that's the word I was trying to think of. That's exactly what my opthamologist said I had.

I just looked at the paperwork that came with my rx. To be exact, it's Erythromycin Opthalmic Ointment, USP, 0.5% It's manufactured by Bausch & Lomb.
It's described as a 'translucent ointment' and the specific instructions say to apply to eyelashes at bedtime for 1 week, then as needed. May cause transient burning or stinging (whatever that means. I haven't noticed any)
At Winn Dixie, the cash price without insurance woulda been $25.00. A little more than I thought, but still not bad at all.
Even before I went to the Opthamologist, I had been using a humidifier near my bed to help with the dry eyes. It did a great bit of good.
I say to hell with that Dermatologist.

^ My ointment has an antibiotc and a steroid in it. It ended up being 4 dollars because the other one wa like this brand name and they called me in a generic same thing. I was reading all about that bleph and looking at pics and I had something like that years ago but this is not on my lash lie like before and I don't wake with stuck together eyes. They gave me an eyelid wash too. I think I'm going to get the pads instead( because I can use those to take off makeup when I can wear it again) I also read people say they've used vaseline, aloe, and neem creme which are natural. I freaked myself out when I read antibiotics on the eye can thin skin out and steroids lower your immune system.

^ I asked it it was viral or fungal and he said no. If it is I'm fucked because it says you cant take corticosteroids if you have a fungal infection ( there was a warning. It seems to be feeling, getting better don't want to speak to soon. I'm only sing the creme at night since It's 90 degrees here and 100% humidity and it makes the eyes blurry. So hope it's all gone by the time I leave and doesn't come back when I resume wearing makeup.
