    Default Nerves

So, I've found a photographer, and an agency with someone that I feel comfortable working for, and settled on an appropriate rate for myself. I should have pictures taken soon, and ready to start. I've done my research, and I feel fairly ready to start work as a companion, but I still feel somewhat anxious. I know most things that seem scary are usually not that bad once you've had some experience, (so to speak), but does anyone have any advice on how to get over the initial nerves? Or direct me a to thread I may have missed where that is discussed? I'm not putting pressure on myself to work a lot, I'm going to see how three days a week go, for now. And I've also decided that if for some reason, it's not for me, that's ok. But any thoughts or help on relaxing and getting into the right mindset to start with are welcomed.

Well it sounds like you have done all your research and you figure out who you want to work for to start off with, but at this point the only way to get over your nerves is to have your first call, you can pretty much tell after your first call if you want to the work again. and also things could change depending on how you work out with the agency, agencies always seem nice at first because you are the new girl. but once the new girl thing wears off, you usually can tell the agency true colours by then.

I think the nervousness is normal. I had my first date last night and it was a multi-hour one at that. I almost had an anxiety attack because I was so nervous but once you get it over with, you'll realize that you were worrying for no reason. As long as you do all your research and screen, I think you should be good.

Thanks guys. I just have to see how it goes, I guess. Without giving too much detail, it's a small, discrete, boutique type agency. I turned down the opportunity to work w/the bigger ones in the area for a number of reasons.

I've done enough research and talking to people in the business that I think I'm as prepared as anyone can possibly be.

That's a good point to remember, I have to keep reminding myself that the clients are probably nervous too. I just have to try, and see how it goes. I keep reminding myself if I don't like it, it's not the end of the world.

I look forward to getting my photos done. I had to postpone them for a bit because mosquitoes had bitten the crap out of me recently, and the bites have finally healed. I didn't want to have to photoshop a bunch of ugly welts!
