Default How long does screening take?

I talked with one agency about an hour away from me, and they said that they wouldn't be able to hire me because guys would get tired of waiting, so that made me wonder just how long does screening take? I've decided to go indy and I've always thought that screening would take a few hours. Do you all get calls and see guys that same day, or does it have to wait until the next day? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I tried a search but couldn't find anything.

Depending on the agency this can vary. Where I work has been in business for 25 years so we have long term established customers They call last minute and can get a lady That may be what they are referring to New clients tale longer to verify Most of the out of town ladies come into town whenever they call on to work and either hang at a friends or the office

I don't accept same day appointment. For me screening takes up to 24 hours, I literally wait until the guy has been verified before seeing him. I don't take chances. Now if it's a guy on date-check.com with multiple refs and I will see him regardless.

It sounds to me like the agency meant the guys would get tired of waiting for you to drive home from wherever you are (30m) + get ready (1hr) + drive to the agency's aread (1h) = 2.5 hours (or more) notice for you to see a client. Many agencies have regular clients who are already screened and who like short (1h) notice appointments. The guys would not want to have to wait 3 hours or more for an appointment, so the agency probably thinks they will have a difficult time booking appointments for you.

Most agencies don't screen as thoroughly as independents do, so they will usually book even new clients in just 1-2 hours. It's not the agency screening that takes forever, it's you getting to the call that takes too long.

I'm a busy chick, so I check email every other day or so and answer in the order they are received (existing clients first, always). Newbies are last, so it can take a day or two for me to read their email + 30m to thoroughly screen them + 30mins - 36hrs to receive reference responses back. It is rare for a newbie to get a next-day appointment with me. It is usually 2 days, or up to a week if my schedule for that week is already full.
