Lightbulb Specific brands or types of shoes that are better for lower back / knee pain?

    Hi ladies,

I'm a newbie looking to try dancing. I tend to get lower back pain and dislocated my kneecap a couple years ago so I was wondering if there are any brands or styles of shoes (5") that you've found to be more comfortable than others.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

5" shoes tend to be far more uncomfortable than the taller heel heights. It's something to do with angles and proportions. Have you considered getting 5 3/4" inch shoes with a nice platform?

Aside from that, I'm a fan of Tony's and Highest Heel brand shoes. Pleasers are more widely available but they aren't ideal. Don't get me wrong, they are fine, but some models are shoddy so try them out before purchasing if you can.

I'm curious too. I have knee pain when squatting done to pick up tips onstage. I think that a platform shoe without much difference between the toe and heel height would be more comfortable than typical stripper shoes so you could put some of your weight on the heels instead of toes and get a hamstring and butt workout instead of stressing the knees. But all the stripper shoes I've seen lately have 4 inches difference between toe and heel height. If anyone knows of any decent looking platform cushioned shoes stripper or non stripper shoes with less than 4 inches difference between toe and heel height please let me know!

I've never worn them but a lady the lady who owns darkside recommended caros to me. I guess you can customize them. They are really pricey though but if they work it's worth it.
