Duh You and Google Image search.

Not sure if you girls have noticed that nifty not-super-new 'search by image' feature on google - allowing you to copy-paste an url of an image, or upload a downloaded image and look for the SAME image all over the net.

Just a word to the wise - and most of you girls probably know this - be careful. I had posted an image of me being silly, nothing naughty, on twitter, an image that had been posted on a vanilla site (facebook, which mine is locked to friends only, keep in mind!). And with only 60-some-odd followers someone had to be a creep and google image search the image, and even though it is is behind a friends-only account on FB it STILL comes up in the google image search with my full FB name attached to it.

Fucking creepshows. Either way, heads up 7 up.

Never put pics online that you wouldn't want others to see! That's all well and good, so long as there aren't already images of you out there...

You can get them removed if they are already out there - and if you're an aspiring camgirl, i urge you to do so NOW before you start actually camming. Do a google similar images and all sizes search on all your pics and if they appear anywhere on the net, find out who owns the website and ask them to remove it. In most cases they will do this, if not, you can start down the Cease & desist route, followed up by DMCA's if necessary. Once you have all your pics cleared up.. make sure you either NEVER put any new ones out there with your face in, or at the very least, watermark everything with your website/camsite address so if people DO find you, they come back to your cam room and start payin you

Right indeed Sexysusie. Mainly here in my case the issue having been that it was a NON-naughty picture, (me with a pikachu stuffed animal, just a face shot) on FB, and to my cam twitter followers. Searching the image gives them the image results even from *private* album pictures. When they click on the link, they will not be able to access it, but they can see the thumbnail, and the title of the facebook page, your full name - should you have a 'regular/vanilla/family&friends FB. More of a privacy issue than a payment issue for me- this time. My dumb, and lesson learned.

Yep, Always pays to think abotu the information you share and how people can search for things on the internet. Tineye is a similar reverse image search engine.

It is also worth remembering that their is no delete key in cyberspace. Once a photo is placed on a site, it isnt just on that site and its server, it can end up on servers all over the world, removing from one id not a guarantee that it is removed from everywhere plus google and other search engine keep copies of websites going way back.

It is also worth looking at watermarking your photographs either visually, electronically or both. Digimark has an option that isnt too expensive and they have a very cool tracking service that alerts you the moment one of those watermarked photographs is used on a website. You cant out a price on peace of mine :-)

I didn't know you could do this with google, oh joy!

I used a cropped version of one of my photos on Facebook then took it down...Hotmail somehow linked my personal and work email addresses and when one of my regulars did a friend search on FB using his hotmail account, it gave him my personal FB account AND my personal email account, when I don't even have that email account showing to my friends, it's on private! He thankfully told me and I made my FB account unsearchable, which resolved that particular problem.

I know it doesn't help you now Rolly, but for anyone who uses facebook - make sure ALL your settings are set to private, so no one can tag you in their pics without your permission, or share pics of you, no one but immediate friends can see your pics, and you have to approve (or just not allow) comments on any pics of you.

Or as Katy says.. you can also make your facebook unsearchable. You can (and should) do the same with photobucket and any other file sharing/ pic uploading sites you have accounts on too!

I only have 2 pictures on FB, but they were taken before I started camming, and I have a very different hairstyle since too. + I have every settings private.

Google is great in findig the SAME image but other than that.... I searched a Melanie Th1erry picture like a week ago, she has a really specific face shape (large jaws, thick lips, small eyes) etc. and google only managed to find a few of the searched image in different sizes, the rest was just some totally different blonde girls not even similar to her at the very least, a photoshopped pig faced man, an old chinese dude with long grey beard, anime pictures and so on....

Also a good thing to keep in mind that potential future 'straight job' employers may be able to use this very same facial recognition technology based on a digital picture taken during your job interview !!! Actually, where 'in depth' background checks are required, this is already happening in some instances ( via FBI facial recognition software and private screening service software, which is much better than the 'free' facial recognition stuff now becoming available to everyone ).

DO NOT EVER PUT ANY IMAGE ON YOUR REGULAR FACEBOOK THAT YOU HAVE USED ON ANY CAMMING OR CAMMING PERSONA SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE. Unless you don't care if customers find your real facebook.

if you're worried now, you'll be even more worried in the future, sorry. with advancements in facial recognition software it will not only be possible to look for same image, but same face, even if other elements of the photograph are different, even video, thats the future i'm afraid

    it's not incredibly comprehensive...
my old pictures of me with crazy hair dooos and such are ALL over the internet - been faked many times, yet google brings none of that up just people who look like me.
