Default Tattoos and being recognized OTC?

To all the inked ladies here (mainly those with tats in very visible places),

I'm hoping to put on my stripper shoes once more in the near future, but since the last time I danced, I've gotten quite a bit of ink done, some of which is in very visible areas (inside of lower leg and forearm, collarbone/shoulder area, etc). I wasn't planning on covering up my tats, possibly just gloves or something to cover the forearm, or stockings to cover the legs, but that's about it. So, anywho, I was just wondering: do you inked ladies ever worry about customers recognizing you by your tats outside of work? I imagine having unusual tattoos would make you more easily identifiable by creepers outside of the club; if they happened to see you in public somewhere and recognize the ink, they might just put 2 + 2 together.

    Thoughts on this?

Honestly I work in a smaller city, and I'll spot customers or vice versa almost every time I go downtown.

Most of the time they don't remember where they saw me, and rarely even say hello. It hasn't really made a difference as I've gotten more ink.

Potentially being recognized is unfortunately a part of the job, regardless of how many tats you do or don't have. Unless you dance wearing a mask.

I have never had that happen to me. I've been dancing 9 years, dancing 5 years heavily tatted.
Fuck, I've even been on TV and have only been recognized once! (if I ever was recognized, no one has ever said anything)

I'm sure I walk by customers all the time, but I have no fucking clue. I really don't pay that much attention and just don't care enough to remember.

People choose what they want to remember I guess. I'm sure it makes it easier to be identified, but I really wouldn't stress or worry too much.
I don't think it will make you any more recognizable than a girl WITHOUT tattoos. If they want to remember you, they'll find a way..tattoos or not.

I have tattoos as well as 2 other distinguishing features and occasionally I get recognized. It's a part of the industry. Get used to it or don't do it.

If people are gonna recognize you, they'll recognize you regardless of tattoos. A guy came into my vanilla job the other day and immediately said "I know you from somewhere." I said I had no clue. After about 10 seconds, he said, "You used to work at *my old club*." I haven't worked there in over a year, my hair is now a completely different color and length, and I was wearing a dorky uniform. Faces are recognizable - honestly, unless you only have one, very distinct tattoo, I don't think tattoos really are. No offense meant to tattoos (I have a couple myself), but nowadays, freakin' everybody has a tattoo, and especially with people who have several, I can usually never even take it all in at once. I think people's tattoos are cool, but unless you have something really distinctive in a very odd place, I would never remember to associate anyone with a tattoo. Customers probably aren't going to remember your tattoos over everyone else's unless they memorize your look enough to recognize you regardless of the ink.

i am heavily tattooed (almost 30 ) and I dont worry about this issue because I work almost an hour away in Mass and I live in Rhode Island.

On another note, I dont cover up my tattoos because the are a part of me and I use it as my shtick in my stripper persona...The rocker chick with a golden, sweet personality...The way I look at it is, that my tattoos are apart of me. If I was worried about my tattoos being recognized, I wouldnt do this as a profession. I actually have a girl that i drive in with try to talk me into covering them up and I told her implicitly last night, that they are apart of me, and Im not going to cover them up for the sake of making more money/going to another club that doesnt like tattoos/impressing people/being recognized....Thats just not who I am and if someone doesnt like it, Ill find someone/somewhere who does...

I would say if youre worried about being recognized simply for your tattoos, work somewhere considerably further from your house and rock them because theyre a part of you.

I've had customers recognize me walking down busy streets with little to no makeup while wearing a peacoat, and I don't really have any visible ink. And I lived in a big city. Lots of ink is no different than having defining features that make you recognizable.

Today I wore a raincoat and baseball cap with glasses and no makeup. Still got recognized.

I wear one of those fake mustaches and glasses sets you can buy at the Dollar general. I had wayyyy more success. Try that one

Even more awkward when you catch public transport after work, and you share the same bus.
Or stop by Mcdonald's and you're in the queue besides them.

Fuck I wish I lived in the city or had a full licence.

For me it's the other way around...I am much more worried that someone I know will recognize me in the club bc of my tattoos...
