Default Stay away from modelxonline! Need help, any ideas?

I want to warn you all of what has happened to us in the last 3 days. We have briefly stopped working as we have my children for the summer and decided, time to get away from the studio and go to SM directly. So, Modelxonline sent us out a bonus check for hours put in for the month of May-June. The check was cashed over a month ago. We asked to be released and all of our content to be released and they instantly deleted us off their site. Well we deposited money for us to live off of for the next few days into our bank account and surprise, they took out 100 dollars. At first we thought we were being scammed or someone was in our account, however, after hours of time on the phone with the bank, i find out that Modelxonline (also known as Halixxx productions), went back and stopped payment on our check. So, the bank takes out the 100 dollars they gave us to cover the check and charged us another 10 dollar fee for having to take it out, and then because it overdrafted our bank account, they charged us another 35 dollar fee. So now, here we are, out 145 dollars of our money, because these douchebags decided to stop payment on a check for no reason. I am i-rate. How the hell do you explain to 2 kids that you had money for groceries and now you don't. How is it that a company who takes 70% of what you earn every month can turn around and steal money from you. How is it that they can stop payment for no reason? The other thing is, they have one phone number listed for this random Halixxx company who is the one who wrote us the bonus check and i have tried calling it all morning and i have been hung up on and told it is not Halixxx. So, now i don't know what to do or where to turn. I have tried better business buereau, they had one solution but when i called the company, which was a canadian fraud company, they said my phone connection was so bad they couldn't hear me and to call back on monday. I'm at my wit's end here and don't know what to do..... any ideas?

I got an email back from the Modelx support team. They say now that we didn't earn the bonus and that they stopped payment on the check because they "misissued it" They even wrote in the notes section of the check that it was for our "May bonus". They said they'd send us a ten dollar check to fix the fee. I told them that was unjustifiable and that i had been reading on here about this guy's past legal issues and how he does this to other girls and i'm ready to contact an attorney about this. Does anyone have any advice for us here? I'm in dire need of some help and i don't know where to turn.

Unfortunately, it's a big waste of time to threaten to contact an attorney over such a small dispute. You will spend at least 4 times that much money to even have the attorney attempt to get the money out of them, and they know it. I'm sure they are threatened all the time and don't even think twice about it. I bet they can count on one hand the number of models who actually went thru with their threats.

I'm not sure how they stopped payment on a check that was already cashed, as I used to work at a bank and never heard of that happening. Once the check was cashed, they couldn't get the money back. But maybe that's changed since I worked in finances.

Most studios are shady. The thing is, they don't need your $100 check. But they know how badly YOU need it. I'm really not trying to be insensitive; I've just heard of so many girls going thru this. They are very immature & scumbags for doing that.

But at least you are free from them now. And you can move on with your life without them. Don't let them take up any more space in your head. What you've done here (posting about what they did to you), will help others avoid them. It will come up in search and models can be warned.

Thanks for the warning. Go and enjoy your summer with your kids. Then get back online and show the world how awesome you are on your own.

Not sure how they stopped payment on the check either Jess. Thats what baffles me. It was cashed over amonth ago. The bank said they could only stop checks in the U.S for lost or stolen checks but in their message box on their check they wrote "May bonus". I know that we can't afford a lawyer to even go after them, i guess i was trying to threaten them in hope that things would work out. i am pissed off enough to contact an attorney, but like you said, is it really going to be helpful? Probably not. I've searched the forums all morning though and this isn't the first time they have done this and i will almost bet it won't be the last, but it is wrong, no matter how you look at it for them to pay us and then say, oh sorry nope we're not, a month later. That money that came from our account wasn't their 100 dollars to take, it was ours. It was from labor outside of the site. It was our grocery and emergency money. And now it's gone. And you're right, they don't need it. It's their little way of saying, oh you want to leave us and go work direcctly for streamate, take this then! We'll take money out of your account so you suffer. I just hope that everyone else heeds the warning. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MODEL X ONLINE!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM, THEY WILL SCAM YOU, LIE TO YOU AND STEAL YOUR MONEY! ON TOP OF THAT THEY HAVE 0 SUPPORT FOR THEIR MODELS. What is really irritating to me, is the banks can't even find their company. They have no phone number, no support, no nothing. It's like they have this perfect little scam system set up and they just get away with it. Don't know what to do now. Sit here and try to figure out how to eat on nothing for a week for a family of 4. Thank you modelxonline!

I wanted to let you guys read my emails with their support team this morning, to see just how they act and treat people. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.
My first email of the morning went out to modelxonline, streamate and the fake email address the owner of modelxonline has up, here is my message:

    To whom it may concern:
    >

    > take it. I will not accept this. I want contact information and i
    > want
    > our check put back in the bank where it belongs. Thank you.

    Their response:

It was stopped because there was an error you where not suppose to be
issued that check we can reissue 10 dollars for the fee sense you
    cashed it out.

    My response:
e did earn the 100 dollar time bonus for May. You guys issued the
    > check, you wrote on it May Bonus and everything and you stopped
    > payment on it. That is unjustifiable. That money has been cashed and
    > spent and it took you over a month to stop payment on it? Would you

    > Fix what you did wrong. We worked our asses off for you guys for

    > bonus's and you wrote that check over a month ago. Fix it or i
    > proceed
    > with a fraud team. You have the opportunity to make things right, so
    > do so. That money was ours, you issued a check for it and i was told
    > by a bank the only way you can stop payment on a check is if it was
    > lost or stolen. It wasn't. You guys even wrote May bonus in the notes
    > section. We can't feed our kids or ourselves without that money you
    > just took and we have to have it back. Fix it.

    Their response back to me:
You did not actually make the bonus. You can go ahead and threaten us
all you want, but the fact is that the bonus was a mistake, then you
quit after. We have also never had this issue with any other models,
    nor
do we owe any other models money.

If we hear anything more from you or anything trying to slander our
name, we will be sending you a Cease and desist from our lawyer, if it
continues after, we will take appropriate measures.

    Thanks,
    MXO

    My response back:
You can be upset all you want to, you guys issued a check, you documented the purpose of your check and then you stopped payment on the check. What you did was wrong and unjustified and if you really make sloppy mistakes like over paying people 100 dollars then that is your error to be punished onto you, not your employees. You can threaten me all you want to, but there is already documentation all over the internet about your company and i have also put out a complaint about this issue with you as well, so contact your lawyer if you wish, but it's already all on there by other people than me. I don't have to slander your name, you guys give yourselves a bad enough name by how you treat your models. Every time you do something unjust, they run places and post about your company, causing every search of your company name to show complaints. I will never give you a positive referral anywhere and i will tell people honestly exactly what you have done to us, which is not slander, it is the truth. What you guys did was wrong, and i'm so happy you have a fail proof scam system put up in order to protect yourselves. I am contacting the fraud department in Canada monday and you can deal with them. You owe us 100 dollars, the bank told us to contact you guys to collect the money you owe. We did what we were told.We earned that money, the check was cashed a month ago and you had no reason to stop payment on it, other than to get even with us for leaving your company. I will take any measures i can to get the money returned because it is our money. You are not allowed to stop payment on a check unless it is stolen or lost, yours wasn't. Good luck with the fraud department. I hope everyone who is employeed with you finds out what you have done by doing their research online and quits your company to go to streamate's directly just as we did. Smartest move we ever made was leaving your company, and this just proves we were right. You want me to post positive comments, then fix what you did to us and our family and do something right for a change.

I have been on the phone with the Canada fraud department. They are asking that anyone who has a problem with Modelxonline call in or look up their website and place a report with them as well. Any of you who do this, i want you to know that it will be greatly appreciaeted and our cases will help each other. They are investigating modelxonline and i will try to keep you all updated on the process. If you would like their direct number, please PM me and i will send it to you. I want to thank any of you who have messaged me for your help this morning. This is very difficult to deal with and i really sincerely appreciate all of you.

So did you earn the $100 bonus or not? I'm confused because it's unclear the order of events- "briefly stopping work">"quite studio go to SM">"get bonus check">and then they stopped payment on the bonus check? I mean, if they really did mistakenly pay you for hours that you were not working, and they just didn't catch it until later in the month when they were doing their bookkeeping, it sounds like they'd be doing right just by refunding your bank's fees. Can you clarify how the events all went down?

I have a hard time following these things also, Im trying to figure out what they have done wrong at the moment. Seems they are doing everything correct and the op has taken an over re-action to it. Could be completely mis-reading it though. Being professional and diplomatic would yield better results if you did earn the bonus.

In any case, right or wrong they are a studio for streamate and should be avoided by anyone reading this.

Did you earn the bonus? or was it genuinely a payment mistake?

Edit add: Your current approach of all guns blazing is one I would never recommend. Your a business lady who is self employed (not an employee) dealing with another company, all these threats and digs at them makes the situation worse unfortunately.

If you didnt earn it you shouldnt of cashed it (theft?), morally wrong.

Im hoping you did actually earn it though

Default Re: Stay away from modelxonline! Need help, any ideas?

Ok, everyone is confused lol. So here is what happened. We had been working for modelxonline since February. So, we started noticing in march we were hitting the requirements for monthly bonuses and they weren't sending us a check as their site says they will, so i emailed them. Well it was one excuse after the next, month after month. They sent me a bonus check at one point that was 50 dollars short at one point, but i didn't complain. It was nice that they even had bonuses. So anyways, we continued working and they finally started sending out bonus checks. The beginning of June, we got my kids for the summer and we decided that time constrictions with them here, it's just not a good time to be on cam. It's more important to have time with them. So we decided to take our time off to make a move to streamate and get away from the studio. So i emailed modelxonline, as streamate told us to and asked that they release us and our content so we could move. Well about a week or so later, we received our last pay check and a bonus check. We went to the bank and deposited them with another check. Well the way modelxonline is set up, they mail you bonus checks from canada and your pay checks are from novia scotia. Their actual company is listed in Arizona as well if you are wondering. Well the canada checks are hand written and unbusiness looking. Either way, had never had an issue. We did earn the time bonus for the month of may and they owed us 100 dollars, we received it, we cashed it. They even wrote "May bonus" in the bottom memo box of the check. So the bank has a procedure where international checks take a lil longer to go through evidentally. Well nothing has happened in this whole month, we have heard nothing from the bank, nothing from model x nothing at all. So on the 3rd of July, my fiance deposited 100 dollars in our bank acccount. All of a sudden we get a text alert that says you have .71 cents in your bank account. WE're sitting here freaking out, thinking some one has our bank info and is stealing money from our account. Well after contacting the bank, and then an international company, they finally tell us Modelxonline stopped payment on the check a few days ago. So they took our money that we just put into the bank out. Then the next morning, after being on the phone with them all night about this charge, they charge us a 10 dollar stop payment fee because modelxonline stopped the check. Which totally over drafted our account, so they tacked on another nice 35 dollar fee. So by the time i started searching for contact info on modelxonline, and began calling the phone number listed for the company associated with our check..... i was hung up on and told they were not the company. The email address listed for their company is also fake. So i emailed modelxonline support to ask them about it and they are just like you didn't earn it so we took it back. Well, we did earn it. They sent us a check and it seems they are just pissed that we left them so their way to screw us now is to stop payment on that last check. You all know how money comes and goes. That check was spent a month ago. We had no idea they could even stop payment on a check for no reason....... well technically they can't. Or so i was told by a bank and a fraud company. They are only supposed to be able to cancel a check that is lost or stolen. This company has weird thing after weird thing show up...... phone number is not their number, email is not even an email.... the bank can't even find their company. So basically they have it set up to where there is nothing anyone can do but the company. They pretty much can get away with sending any of you a check, or not, stopping payment on checks, ignoring your requests, and there is nothing you can do about it except email them until you are blue in the face. Their support people are always rude. In my initial email all i wanted was contact information to call someone in a high position of the company so i could discuss this with them, but of course i was angry. I felt like i had been stolen from, i felt like someone was in my bank account, i felt scammed, ripped off, hurt. So that's where the anger in the emails come from. Maybe it wasn't the most professional but at the point i was at, they aren't professional either, otherwise i could have made one phone call to them, or found a phone number, or a legitimate email and it had to be associated with Halixxx productions because that is where modelxonline sends their bonus checks from. Basically after everything that has happened, we are just accepting it as a full loss on our end. They're not going to refund the money, but we did get the fraud company to investigate what happened with them. We should be receiving phone calls on stuff hopefully in the next few days. I seriously doubt we will ever see our money again. When you don't have anything at all, a 100 dollars is a lot to lose. But i cruised this forum yesterday morning and others as well. And i found a lot of personal complaints about them just flat out not paying people which just upset me more. It's not just us that they have ripped off, there are others out there too. As a studio who is "supposed to offer support and help" for models, they just don't offer it. Instead they hurt their models or never pay them. ~shrugs~ So, here we sit, punished for no reason. 145 dollars in the hole.

We did, we were putting in over 50 hours every week of the month which qualified us for the max weekly bonus every week. We're not the type that rip people off and we hate having it done to us. That's why i'm upset. I guess i feel like what they did was morally wrong. I mean how are you gonna take money away from someone who worked that many hours a week for you and that you collected a hefty percentage of their pay check? And ya i know i should've stayed a little calmer, but by the point i finally started emailing them, i was just i-rate. I had been on the phone for hours and hours and hours and hours and online searching for them, and getting hung up on, and trying to figure out how to feed 4 people with no money after them stopping that check and the bank taking our money. And on top of all that the bank's only solution was contact them and tell them they owe you the money, there's nothing we can do and to call the fraud company on them because what they did was wrong.

Now that they've deleted your account, can you prove that you worked enough time to earn the bonus? Do you have time sheets or earnings reports? Or anything can prove how long you were online and how much you earned?

Studios scam people all the time, so I'm not saying they didn't do it to you. I'm just trying to direct you away from emotion and on to reality and proof. The truth is that if you can't prove what they did to you, they absolutely can send their lawyer after you. And a fraud department probably won't be able to do anything for you except take a complaint.

I totally feel your pain. I had something happen to me recently, and I'm now in contact with an attorney over the issue. These are big companies, & they do what they do because they know that they will probably get away with it. I will probably have to spend a couple/few hundred on an attorney just to right a wrong that was done to me. This shouldn't be the case, but the burden of proof falls on me. It doesn't matter that what was done to me was wrong; I'm still the one who has to pay for the attorney, and I am still the one who has to prove my case.

I'm suggesting that, if you really are going to proceed in this fashion, you at least make sure you have some proof.

^I'm going to have to agree with this, unfortunately OP to give you some perspective this is the third "problems with payment" with ModelXOnline that has been posted in Stripperweb almost within the past month

I'm really sorry this happened to you - unfortunately your story is another crappy reminder about how online studios are.... crappy. Also may nudge performers towards taking screenshots of everything if theyre under a studio atm.

Thankfully working independently you'll earn 35% instead of 25% now, and I hope you're able to recoop your losses. Itd be best to sign up for STreamate directly now to ensure you actually are released from their studio though, because if you arent that is something you have direct evidence of them commiting to do at least.

If you cannot buy groceries or basic necessities, there are a few threads here about finances that have info on social services. (Id link direcly to them but am having problems navigating the site)

It doesn't matter that what was done to me was wrong; I'm still the one who has to pay for the attorney, and I am still the one who has to prove my case.

I'm suggesting that, if you really are going to proceed in this fashion, you at least make sure you have some proof.
After asking them to release us, they had our accounts taken down within literally 3 minutes of my request. I didn't have time to even get back in my accounts and notify people we were going to be offline for a while, so no, there is no way for me to get back in there and screenshot it now, but we constantly looked over our hours and during the month of may we like lived online because we were trying to come up with extra money for the summer and to get my kids. So we are 100% sure that we worked the hours, so are our customers lmao. Like i said though it's pretty much just going to accumulate to a loss unless the investigation into them turns things up and the fraud company actually does something, but it sounds like they will just investigate. You are right though, everyone should keep screenshots of their pay records, hours logged etc. And i'm accepting that as a valuable lesson from this. I hope everything works out for you Jess, i feel your pain and it's wrong that these jerks can do this to people. I wish you all the luck in the world hunny.

Thank you Roast. I know, i had seen at least 2 yesterday, and it makes me sick to know that they are doing this to other people. It's not right or ok. And you are absolutely right, they are crappy. I sincerely wish i had found stripperweb before i signed up with them so i would've known they were a studio instantly. They have a nice looking site with some info on it and it looked legitimate. We were unaware of studios and all that, boy have i learned lol. And in my last post i was saying that about screenshotting things too, i think that is such a great idea and one i will begin doing as soon as i start back up again. All of our accounts are down from modelxonline, so i am hoping that means we are fully released. I'll try and search later for the social services thing, but up here it is so hard to get any help at all with assistance in our state. The economy is horrible and you literally have to be homeless to get them to help you with anything. It is a mess. I have been through the ringer for the last few months, i have lost my grandfather, and then we buried my Dad on father's day. On top of all that, finances have been hard without our extra streaming checks and things just keep getting worse and worse and worse. That's why this was so angering to me and so devastating. For once it'd be nice for us to catch a break instead of being slammed into the ground over and over ya know. Shit happens, this is life, but good grief, a person can only tolerate so much. I wanted to say thank you to you though too for all of your help and support. There are a lot of girls on here that really appreciate you Roast, you rock and you help people every day. It's nice to see the good people of the world emerge when the assholes ruin your day, so for that thank you so much!

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately & genuinely hope things get better for you soon.

As roast said, it's great that you'll be making 10% more soon. It won't take you long to see what a big difference that makes.

I hope you have a better weekend.

Modelxonline.com's owner is hidden by Domains by Proxy @ Godaddy and was open in 2009 by Halixxx Productions Ltd. They're at 1238 Seymour St. Vancouver, B.C The contact is [email protected]
Halixxx.com was let go, not renewed. Here's why the company was changed On Sept. 6, 2011 to Streamline Entertainment Ltd. look at pg 1578, near the top, on the right side.
The owner of this new company is the same as the old one, Benjamin Langille also owns CPA Kingdom Inc. and here's the Linkedin profile He also owns the website modelxonline.com , Camtrixstudios.com , Alaurastar.com , aatrck.com , alltranny.net

This guy, Benjamin Langille owns 138 domains (mostly porn). Here's an article about Benjamin Langille, here's a forum talking about it !

Thank GOD someone has the balls to report assholes like this guy. Thank you for doing what so many others would have just turned away from. I know a lot of you say "it's not worth it to take them to court", "it'll cost too much", etc. so as long as we allow it to continue, it wil. Anyone else noticing that since SOPA was shot down, there popped up more and more sites, more and more scams? Aren't you girls seeing them, too? Brand new sites opening up with promises of higher payouts but no traffic. Then, the next thing you know, you turn around and they're not paying you. They have plenty of content of yours to sell elsewhere and you are shit out of luck. Think they give a fuck? It costs them next to nothing to start up another site, just like that one. Sites that offer a great array of features with payment methods a distant afterthought? Perhaps that's because we let them get away with this bullshit. Any other industry operate this way? Treat its subcontractors this way? Hell no! I stumble across at least a hundred new sites per day on the Twitter "Who To Follow" list alone! How do they keep getting away with their scams? Simple. Noone reports them. Noone DOES anything. Let's just all sit here and watch them continue to grow and continue to screw us all out of our hard earned money because that is exactly what is happening. Low life scum of the earth is what they are. You go girl! Don't back down. Again, I'll say it .. thank GOD for people like you!

And to make things even better, Ben is linked to the Melvin family! The Melvins are a Halifax gang family, and Jimmy Melvin Jr is particularly well-known for just about every crime imaginable. Serious scum.

The email is a fake email address, i tried to email them. Also, the phone number they have listed on their domain search, some girl answered it and just said hello. I asked if this was Halixxx productions and she says no my name is blah blah blah then hung up on me. I'm going to read all these articles you linked just haven't had a chance yet, thank you for all the info. I appreciate that so much.

Didnt read the recent posts as they are massive but incase no-ones answered yet, details stay on the system even after an account close so they can be retrieved. Maybe a helpful person on SM support can send a screenshot of them.

But if bonus has been earned and they arent sending it then I dont think theres much you can do at this point.
