    Default Employer Information-Life Insurance Policy...

Ok so on the life insurance policy papers, it asks for my employer information, including the name of the company. Do I have to put SM or can I lie and put a different name or just N/A?

I really don't want Streamates Limited listed on my policy papers for family to see, especially since I'm giving them to my grandfather to put in his safe...

Funny you ask I was just looking into life insurance...

Technically you are not employed by Streamate, or any other cam site you may work for. You are not their employee, you are contracted. This is why you receive a 1099 not a W2. So, I would put self employed or if you use a DBA or other business you have created for camming such as an LLC, put that name as the employer.

Most likely though, you just need to put self employed. Why are they asking your employer information? I haven't gotten far into my research on it yet, but people change employment often... seems weird to require that you provide that information to begin with.

That's what I was thinking. It asks for employment status (self employed), employer, work city/state, position/duties (independent contractor), annual income...The only reason I looked into them is because they're a big name company.

I don't really know what I'm doing so I want to make sure it's right. My grandfather is the one who kept hounding me to get life insurance now because I'm 23, but he's been no help in telling me what to do, as far as what to look for etc.

So your employment status is self employed, and then your annual income as whatever you had on your last tax return. That's what I would do.

It's a good idea to get life insurance. In my situation, I'm currently the only one working while my husband is completing school, and we have 3 kids. If something happened to me.... omg they would be screwed!

They want to know your employment details because you could have a job that increases your chances of death, sickness or injury.
