Any experiences? I want mine done. I have thin, small lips always have had. I think it looks lovely when done correctly. Anybody got any advice or anything they can share?
Thanks!

Juvederm.
I think I'm at 10 months now, they're still looking good.
I'll probably get them reinjected in 2 or 3, maybe 4 months.

Don't get silicone or silikon 1000. Anything temporary (or fat injections) are fine.

Yes but I need to get ready for work I had the vy....I'll explain more later.

I second the negative reports on lip 'implants'. I tried those once ... the implant got infected and I wound up removing it myself with a pair of sterilized tweezers ( plus about 10 shots of tequila ) !!!

Aghhhhhh! Melonie ur hardcore.

Injections are a great way to augment your lips as they aren't permanent, and you can always get more if you want to go bigger=)

well, the alternative would have meant waiting an extra 2 days plus ponying up airfare and hotel / rental car expenses to travel back to the doctor who put in the lip implants. I figured that I was better off 'removing' the source of the infection ASAP !Aghhhhhh! Melonie ur hardcore.
I've booked in for a consultation this Friday, consultant said if I feel okay she can go ahead that day too.
It costs set amount for a 'natural' looking injection and only half that amount again, for the full lip look. Not sure which to go for.

So they arent selling it by the vial? Maybe you could ask them how much they charge for "touchups". Ime, touchups are generally half of what a full vial would be but of course this could differ from place to place.
Yay! So excited for you!! Youve gotta show us the results!

they said I can have half syringe or full syringe. I will see what she says on Friday, and I suppose once she's seen me she will know what's best however maybe she's going to try to sell me the full syringe because that's what pays her wages lol

It's un sterile to store fillers once their opened. I wouldn't go anywhere who told you it's ok to store a syringe for future injection. Now restalynne comes in an .05 size and a 1.0 I believe so that may be what she's doing but refrigerating the syringe doesn't keep it sterile. Same with botox, it's not advised to keep and refrigerate that's why some states make you use the 50 units once it's open. No one in south carolina will store it so they only do it twice a week. Anyways doesn't mean doctors won't who don't see a lot of patients for botox or fillers. I actually didn't believe them in S.C. so I did research.

Let me rephrase this, because after much re-reading I realize that what was previously written made me sound incredibly uneducated in the area, lol. I'm not trying to be confrontational which is what I think I acheived in my previous post, but at the same time I don't want to come across as someone who is totally ignorant on the topic of fillers, which is what (I think) my original post suggested.
Regarding Botox: Botox only has a suggested shelf life of about 4 hours, which is why you can't refrigerate it for later use. Ime, botox was always purchased by the unit so that you only paid for what you used, since the remnants are discarded.
There is alot of debate over whether or not Restylane should be discarded after use. There is a study which found that restylane remains sterile for up to 9 months after it has been opened, therefore, some dermatologists/plastic surgeons believe it is safe to store it in careful, sterile conditions as long as it is properly labeled. *I should add that to the best of my knowledge, this study was not performed on Juvaderm* There are plastic surgeons and dermatologists who, on the other hand, believe Restylane should be discarded after use because there is always room for human error, like accidentally using someone else's syringe, or contamination. So really, it comes down to your board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist's school of thought =)
In the post of issue which I deleted, I claimed that the storage of unused restylane for future use for a limited amount of time is 'usually' done, and I completely admit that that was a serious error on my part. Again--totally variant on the individual doing the injections. So, sorry for assuming and suggesting that the storage of unused restylane was common practice=)

^ Some doctors still refrigerate botox and fillers. I've only had botox twice and some doctors buy it in 50 or 100m unit bottles, face it i you only have one patient that day who gets 20 units that other half is going in the fridge. I think this is why both times mine had only lasted 2 months tops. I'm going to start asking if it's fresh and I want to see it opened in front of me. I was reading on realself.com and most wont store the fillers once they inject you the needle isn't sterile and an open juvederm can get bacteria and i it's in the syringe what if they label it wrong and that person has a disease. I wouldn't trust it and it gets lumpy. It's easy to use up a whole syringe anyways, add a little here and there and it's gone.

^ I know....isn't it funny how one doctor can say something completely different fron another. I've only had botox twice and I'm going to be here in Denver for another 3 weeks and I think it's going to wear off and I've had droopy heave eye once but want to get a touch up becuuse I can see in the bright flourecent lights my line in the middle is coming back. I don't know where to go here....

I've been getting lip fillers for over 5 years now and they start to look better and better. The first time you swell up a lot more and it looks more unnatural. Over time, even when the filler goes away and it's time to go in again, your lips look different and they will never look like they've looked before.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that it is an 'ongoing process' and you can tweak a lot. You'll love it (if you've got the right guy/girl)
Had them done this morning
She had some leftover, and used it around my mouth (I was getting that drooping down at the corners thing, the beginning of 'Puppet lines' which I've been self conscious about for a while)!
I'm pleased with it here's a pic. Excuse the rest of my face, I've had a horrible cold and am knackered!

Thank youit's still a bit tender but everybody I saw yesterday said it looked really good. I think it will look better once it's calmed down a bit as well, I've still got a bit of swelling. The lady who did it was lovely, really professional.
