Default Help me pick a town in the Carolina's! Randomly moving.

    Hey everyone,

I am moving from Arizona to either north or south Carolina and I really need some opinions. I am wanting to move to a town that is medium in size, close to water but still has homes with property for horses and such. Somewhere homey with lots of livelihood but close enough to a bigger city where I can still dance in. Any town that fits this criteria? Also a good spot for kids that is safe is crucial. Thanks!!!

Raleigh is nice, but not that close to the water and prices are high. I like Durham good neighborhood schools, but real estate is expensive and farther from the water than Raleigh. New Bern, very small, but real estate prices are reasonable and on the Pamlico River. Wilmington, at least the burbs, has some real estate that is not over priced and is close to the water. Morehead City/Beaufort is close to the water, but expensive. Havelock, also close to the water but less expensive. Elizabeth City has crime problems, but is close to the water and not so expensive.

If you’re going to move to North Carolina then move to the Raleigh/Durham area. It’s far from the water but still a pretty happening place. Plus there are a string of clubs you can check out in Raleigh.

By the way if you’re thinking of coming to Wilmington don’t. This place is not all what it’s cracked up to be. Yes it’s nice and by the beach but if you’re not rich and or retired then steer clear of this town. Within the last ten years the cost of living in Wilmington has became VERY expensive and the clubs here are a joke. My advice to you is not to waste your time coming Wilmington instead go to Myrtle Beach. It’s only about an hour or two away and has a lot more to offer.

Thanks guys!! I was definitely thinking Charleston or Myrtle Beach. Myrtle beach looks pretty and fun, but seems far away from everything. Is there still good money making opportunities in Myrtle Beach?

Also, would you say North Carolina and South Carolina are about the same in the sense of things to do and attractions and overall scenery?

i am so very in love with the mountains of north carolina, particularly the asheville area but.. it's not near the water, nor are there any good opportunities for dancing.

i do hear of girls that travel from charlotte to dance in myrtle beach occasionally during big events, not sure if the money is lucrative or if they were just trying to work and vacation at the same time though.
