Dizzy Alt Girl in Toronto, Canada

    Hey babes!

Recently I've been heavily weighing the idea to start stripping. However, I worry that I won't find any clubs in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) that will accept dancers that look as ~punky~ and ~alternative~ as I do. I've been told by friends that even the heavily tattooed ladies are still fairly conventional in the way they keep their looks.

So I'm coming to y'all. I'm not asking whether or not I can or should become a stripper because that's not easy to judge in a forum post.
I just wanna find out the best places in Toronto I'd have more luck auditioning at

    Hi honey !

Before I start, please understand that i really want to help you so none of my comments below are to be taken the wrong way. There is no condescendence or mean-spiritedness in them o.k ? It all comes from a place of love and support because I remember when i started stripping how clueless and nervous i was about the way I looked wondering if i was going to get hired or not and blablabla...I didn't have a punky look going on but I didn't have a typical stripper body and was extremely insecure.

The 1st rule you have to understand and never forget to be a succesfull stripper ( which means getting hired wherever you go and banking $$$$ ) is that stripping is a business before anything, it's not about you, it's AAAALL about the guys who pay to see you dance. You have to see it as a job where YOU have to adjust yourself and play and look the part in order to get hired, even if it's not the real you, like being an actress. It's never the other way around. That's a mistake a lot of girls are doing, they don't approach it from a business point of view when they ALWAYS should.

That being said, I can tell you right now, from my 10 years experience working almost everywhere in the Usa, Canada and a little bit in Europe, with your look, it's going to be hard to get hired in a good club anywhere ( good club = not a damn whorehouse ! lol ) and even if you get hired, it's going to be hard for you to make money. I've seen girls with your look before and they don't do well, they usually quit 1 or 2 months after starting because they were barely making money, especially in Toronto. Why ? Because in most men's perspective your look is too edgy, it's not sexually appealing for them, unless they are into the punk rock look ( in a strip club, very few are and usually they are NOT the ones with money to spend on the girls, trust me ! ).

I am not saying that you have to go get implants, get a tan and look like a barbie but I definitely suggest a light makeover. A lot less edginess and a lot more sexiness. I think you are pretty ( i work as a fashion stylist for different magazines and I totally get your look...from a fashion point of view it's attractive and original but from a strip club owner or client in a strip club point of view...not really ! Do you understand what i am saying ? So here are my suggestions :

    1) The hair is very important when you strip, always keep it as long, sexy and natural looking as possible...men love it ! No green hair when you strip please ! For your face and body frame I would suggest mid lenght blonde platinum wig with bangs like this : You can also go brunette with the same wig style but, in my opinion, with your angel face and your tatoos, blonde would make you more appealing in a strip club, you would get more attention. When you buy a wig always go for something that looks natural on you, just like the wig I selected never go for a fake look like this : it's good for a costume party but for stripping you just look like you have a wig on and it's bad !

2)Your eyebrows, make them a bit thinner to give a softer, more angelic look to go with the rest of your pretty face...the eyes are very important when you make eye contact with guys in the club. Your eyes ( with the right make up and eyebrows) can have the power draw them to you without you having to say a word. Thick eyebrows can sometimes give you a more severe look, especially when you are tired after working several nights, that's not good, you always want to keep it fresh, light & seductive in the eye area.
like this : and NEVER like this :

    3) The shoes, with your body frame ( you are petite and not curvy) don't wear these platform shoes. They make you look super skinny, not in a good way. It's too big for your body type, again it's too edgy, not sexy. For a more feminine and sexier look while keeping an egde you can wear the thigh high boots, like these : and the good thing about them, they are cheap, super comfortable and they make you look sexy as hell ! Not all the clubs will let your wear boots though so the other alternative would be these :, these shoes are sexy, cute and will go with ANYTHING you wear, for your body type they are perfect !

    4) the costumes, when it comes to g-strings, and costumes you will wear, since you are not curvy you have to wear clothes that will create an illusion of curves on you, you have to wear very tight outfits that will accentuate your waistline, your bustline and your hipline and don't be afraid to sqeeze your tits to create cleavage. Corsets and thongs are ideal for you, black or red will look amazing because you have pale skin. here some examples : , or or this imagine this with the thigh high boots on you with blonde platimum hair....KILLER ! .

    5) The tatoos, In Toronto I am sure you can find a club that will accept your tatoos but again...you would have to look a lot different than you look now and do all the changes i told you to do ! If you make the changes it's going to soften your image and the tatoos won't seem so edgy, it will create a balance. I have 3 friends who have a lot of tatoos and get hired almost anywhere ( but they look very sexy...no punk rock look going on )

Well I hope I was able to help. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask you can pm me if you want. You just have to focus on looking and acting as sexy as possible from a man's perspective and you'll be fine. In other words you have to give them that sexy kitten character they want to hire at their club, you have no choice, it's a business. Good luck !

I definitely realize it's a business. There's going to be negotiations and sacrifices that will have to be made. I typically keep my body hairy, but I'm okay with shaving/waxing because I know that'll further my success in stripping (to the dismay of my online clients). However, wearing shoes that aren't platforms isn't going to make much of a different with my body. I'm naturally incredibly thin and look awkward and scrawny in all heels.

Oh well, I'll just stick to my nude internet adventures. Thanks anyway!

I think you are adorable and I think if you just changed your hair, to a dark brown or light blonde, you would get hired at a lot of clubs in the city. I'm going to guess that you really love your hair colourful though and suggest a compromise you might be able to work with: I have really light hair, and when I get my roots done I find I actually look BETTER with a pastel colour put in in my bottom layers, I alternate between light pink and lavender. Since it's the underlayers and pastel, it adds a bit of interest without being to WHOAH. I've worked with it and...enh, I wouldn't say it takes away from my $ so much, but I feel too much like "me" without my barbie platinum "work" hair. I actually like wearing my hair in a different style at work it helps me get into character so to speak. But yes, I've danced in toronto with coloured hair, though it was more subtle, and the rest of my look is much more conventional as well. I know one other girl that I worked with at HOL 1 that had bright pink hair, like fuschia bright, and a few piercings, she was pale and tall and beautiful like a pink-haired fairy or something lol...her hair really worked with her colouring and her look as well is what I'm saying. I think that colour would look excellent on you too, if you might consider it? Another bright colour you might be able to get away with at more clubs is bright red.

But yeah, I think you should definitely give it a go, try out a few clubs you don't need a liscense for to get a feel of the business before you fork over $400 for a toronto dancing liscense though, i wish you luck!
