I don't understand the point of this trailer/film.
The media plays on our psychological, biological, and human weaknesses. It isn't their fault, our fault, or anyone's fault really. Sex sells. Youth sells. Beauty sells. And none of that is ever going to change. Its ingrained in our genetics. The media just uses that to their advantage.
And who controls the media? The most powerful/wealthy people in the world. Its their world, and we just live in it honestly. Even millionaires are nothing compared to these people in terms of money and power.
And why should women be forced into working for congress or any of the other industries they said lacked women? The thing with America is that ANYONE can get WHATEVER job they want these days. Almost anyone is able to get school loans. Anyone can intern, volunteer, or assist people in industries who will give them experience and connections. Jobs success is correlated with networking. Its also probably correlated with the amount of money you come from, but only because that makes it easier to network.
Oh & ewww @ them talking about how its sad men only care about a woman's beauty and not her intelligence. Ummm sorry but I've come across very few of those men (except for in contexts like strip clubs of course). Most men want it all. They want the beauty, the intelligence, and personality, the motivation, the creativity. Most of them want the whole package. Obviously looks are important because style is an extensions of yourself, and your physical self is the first impression you have on people. So obviously people are going to judge you on that... but I mean... we have vision, so obviously?
And plus, this documentary sounds dated as fuck. In the 80s and 90s everyone valued thin blonde barbies and women raising children alone had *just* become socially acceptable. Now its all about individuality, playing up your strengths, and style over physical looks. And aren't a lot of women in entertainment/media actually having their implants removed or opting to never get them in the first place? Jenna Jameson, Kourtney Kardashian, Tamara from Real Housewives of the OC, so many more I could name. And aren't single moms and never marrying more acceptable than ever now? Isn't that a big step up for women equality? Women no longer depend on men for survival, so idk what this documentary is on.
I feel like the "facts" and concepts presented in this is really warped. Women ARE in power. There are many women leaders. The world is slowly becoming a woman's world IMO. So I just don't get the point of this.
