    Default burns

last weekend i had a tragic tea accident where i spilled burning water all over my foot. I immediately put it in cold water and have been treating it with silver sulfidizan (turkish name, medical name is very similar) which is an antibacterial/antifungal i believe.

Problem is there are still some ugly blisters on the side of my foot. and i would like to go running, but i think a sweaty running shoe rubbing on the blisters would make it worse.

So, anyone have any tips to help the burn heal faster? Im ancy to hit the trail again.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Don't run. You will prematurely unroof the blisters and make it worse. Not what you wanted to hear, but there it is.

Can you go swimming instead? :-/

This may sound weird but popping a regular blister and putting honey it with a bandaid helps the blisters go down super fast, like overnight.

But that was with regular blisters. I'm not sure about burn blisters. Everything I know about burns says that silver cream is the best thing, plus wrapping it and leaving it alone.

Can you dress them with those non stick burn bandages then wash with soap and water straight away after your run?

Diaper rash ointment is great for burns...and I had 2nd and 3rd degree burns before, and that was the only thing that would relieve it.

Hi, I did this really recently with fresh black coffee, all over my ass and lady bits and thighs.

I'm healed up now with no scarring.

If there are any black bits go to hospital - that's third degree and it's still 'cooking' inside the skin.
Blisters are really good. I used sudocrem on mine and a burn cream at night - ill go check what it's called when I'm home.

The a + e doctor told me to give it as much air as possible and let the blisters pop and the skin peel on its own to prevent scarring. I wouldn't wear shoes for a while if you can avoid it.

    Happy healing

yea i been using htat silver sulfazadine.

this weekend ill be swimmin in the agean sea. i think my patience with this burn is expired though... monday when i return to istanbul im gonna try to tape it up like jessie suggested and see how running goes.

i wish istanbul was more park friendly. then i would just find some grass to run along barefoot and all my problems would be solved. le sigh, i miss home sometimes.

No stick silver sulfa bandages and a wrap. The dead stuff needs to slough off and the new skin needs to mature.

Wash with warm soapy water after swimming so you don't get a bacterial infection which will delay healing.

Burns suck. You should not run... at all... there is a plethora of wee-beasties living in your sneakers. Tread carefully (pun, not intended).

I had some nice crispy white burns on my knuckles one time and what helps was oregano oil and cayenne.
Cayenne does burn but it brings blood to that area and makes the healing process faster. I would say pop them,
put some anti-infection stuff on it (honey works because of the hydrogen peroxide), and let them dry up.
If they're still painful to the touch, then you could try some other stuff. But they're just little foot blisters and
you're probably not even worried about scarring so you should be fine. I would suggest wearing two socks though
or getting some anti-blister socks (it's like a sock within a sock so your foot's rubbing against another sock, not against
    your shoe.)

i know this is a strange remedy, and since this happened to you a few days ago it may be way less effective... but this WORKED for me after i spilled scalding hot coffee all over my lap. i immediately hopped into a cold bath for 30 min or so then started searching the internet for home remedies (fuck if i was going to the ER for them to give me some stupid cream that doesn't work and a bandaid and charge me $1200, i f-ing hate hospitals), and i found this: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/bur...INUMFOIL_82552 and tried the aluminum foil idea. that shit BURNED like hell for the first 20 minutes, made the foil extremely hot, but seemed to be conducting heat away from the burn. after an hour i took it off and started putting aloe on it. i had some huge crazy ass blisters and scald marks that SHOULD have been extremely painful for days and days, keeping me awake at night.. but it was nothing like that! i've never had a burn recover so painlessly it was great! burns are some of the worst, most nightmarish pain i've ever had, even small ones... I'm so happy to have found this remedy
