Default Laser for acne scars, your opinions/experiences?

I've been fighting with acne scars since a medication I took in my early twenties caused my face to erupt in deep cysts as well as the rest of the fun disgustingness that goes with having a pizza face. The acne is mostly gone except for the occasion monthly zit but I have some rolling scars and icepick scars. I've had a lot of success using retin-a and assorted chemical peels, including a TCA peel most recently, but while it definitely looks better and is no longer humiliating (in club lighting it is no longer noticeable and in most regular lighting isn't bad at all) I really just want it gone. Having acne scars in your 30s is embarrassing! A local place is offering fractional skin resurfacing for the entire face at a very decent price per session up until the end of the year. It's still kind of hefty for my current financial circumstances (Mr. boyfriend and I are wanting to get a nicer place and are looking into possibly buying a house) but if it'll work I'll do it and just pull some double shifts to cover it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had it done, or any kind of laser for acne scars, and what you thought if it? Like, what was your recovery time, how bad did it look, and was it worth it? I had great results with the TCA peel and planned to repeat it but I was basically housebound for six days and couldn't work for seven due to how scary I looked.

I ended up not doing because I read the same things. The chances might be small but I don't want to ruin my face over something I can hide with makeup.

Right in the same boat as you. I just got done taking Accutane for 5 months and my skin has severe scaring (rolling, box, ice pick). Laser will work on some of the scars but you should also check out subscision which is usually combined with laser. I have been seeing some AMAZING results online from doing both methods. Yeah, it'll cost you a bit but it is all worth it in the end. I have to wait 1-2 years since my Accutane course ended (which was only a month ago) so it'll be a while for me but I've been doing a lot of research.

Go to acne.org and make a membership (free) or you can look at the forums. They have a forum area specifically for acne scars and there are lots of people on there that post the procedure they do and their results.

Also, go to a cosmetic surgeon and not a Dermatologist.

Lastly, go to a cosmetic surgeon that can provide before and after photos of his/her patients that have undergone the procedure you wish to have done. This is your FACE and also your hard earned money. Better to spend a little more and get someone who has experience.
