Default Best Canadian areas to work in

Hi ladies, I`ve been stripping for 3 days now. Finally did it!!! I was talking with the DJ who has been there for a while, and asked him much the girls make on average per night... He said 500. And if girls are making more than that it`s probably because they`re doing "extras". Is this true? I was thinking it might just be the area I live in...

I`m also considering travelling to a different area this coming summer, maybe toronto. Somewhere where the night life is busier and preferably at a club that is not a know suck-n-fuck... Any suggestions?

I've always found Ottawa to be pretty clean especially next to TO. Also, I've always done pretty well in Ottawa. I think if you came to TO you would be in for a rude awakening (extras-wise). I wouldn't base where you work entirely on one DJ's opinion either. You could always go to BC or Alberta with an agency and work the circuit. It's steady money and you're not really ever doing dances.

I danced in Ottawa for 3 years up til last September, and I really enjoyed working the clubs there - I'm actually heading back in the next couple of months to hit the clubs again. That said, I wouldn't say 500$ is the average amount the average dancer makes in Ottawa. There are definitely girls who do make that often, but I'd say 300$ is more alon the lines of the average earnings of the average dancer.

Most of the DJs (and other bar staff, really) don't know what they're talking about, so take all their "knowledge" with a grain of salt.

Re: extras - save for a couple of clubs, I find Ottawa to be a really clean city. High mileage, but clean within the club rules.

As far as I've heard, there isn't anywhere in particular in Canada with significantly higher earnings that is worth traveling to. The earning potential in Ottawa is quite high for a good hustler!

Feel free to PM me if you have any Ottawa-specific questions!

^second this exactly. Ottawa is a great area in canada to dance it, it's clean, relatively safe, non-sketchy, extra/creep free for the most part (espescially compared to larger cities like toronto and montreal), and the income is pretty consistent. Compared to toronto which is extras city and notoriously inconsistent income. True story, one weekend last summer I came out to toronto to dance, banked about 1.5k in 3 nights, then the next weekend i came back a month later, left $200 IN THE NEGATIVE. Granted, my bf got pnemonia on the trip but, still, the 2 nights I did get to work I made $60 and $20. Bottom line: it's not worth the risk for you if you're already making money in ottawa. Only exception: Ottawa is a lot more competitive looks-wise, the managers at clubs there have higher standards and they can because all the girls from montreal travel to come dance in ottawa, so there's a lot of girls for managers to chose from. I started dancing in ottawa over one summer then went back to school in TO and was super burnt out after a few months. Working in ottawa is so much less stressful for about the same income.

I forgot to add, another bonus about ottawa vs toronto: they don't make you fork over $400 to get a liscense and then make it public record that you were a stripper for anyone that feels like doing a background check to figure out

Just because she got hired, doesn't mean it didn't come up! Marketing is definitely one of the more liberal industries to forge a career in, to the point where they won't be as critical of stripping as, say, law or teaching. I know this doesn't answer your question, but it's important to keep in mind that being a stripper isn't always an automatic kiss of death to your career!

Kisca: Check the Dancing in canada thread that's stickyed in club chat, I didn't know this until last year, someone mentioned it was public record on that thread. At least they don't keep copies of our liscenses online like they started doing for business and taxi liscenses in TO! But yeah, unfortunately if someone really wants too I'm pretty sure they can dig up your dancing liscense. But like shanna said, it's not necessarily a kiss of death...
