    Default Ghz and the encoder..

Ive had allot of lag lately.
Couldnt for the LIFE of me figure out why,

THOUGHT i had a great Cpu...
    My cpu is 2.4Ghz
    Apparently thats not enough..

Does anyone use the encoder with this GHz and have good processing?

Im getting a new one this evening, 3.2 Ghz... 200 bucks. :/ Wish i could avoid it.

I just checked mine on my laptop and it's a 1.73 and I have had no problems with the new encoder settings. Maybe try defragging to clean up your system and boost speed.

Really! How strange, But its only been lagging for the last month, and ive been using it for about 6.
I defrag and cleaned it, and tuned it up.

Everytime i start the encoder the cpu meter hits 100, then starts freezing for long periods of time, frequently crashing
Ive sued 3.2 3.1 even 2.5 lol same stuff.

Do you use a quad core?
    Is it amd or intel?
Any information you can give could help a ton for comparison. .

I have a Mac laptop intel i5 2.9Ghz, 3Mbps and my cam is like silk. Yours looks pretty good so I'm not sure why you're having issues. Is your computer an intel or AMD?

Not really sure if it's AMD or whatever. This laptop is about 5 years old now. When looking at the info screen it says Genuine Intel (R) CPU T2080 @ 1.73GHz, RAM is 1014 MB. It's a Toshiba Satellite.

I think you can pretty much ignore the frequency (GHz)... what is important is how many cores you have.

AMD is just another manufacturer (the biggest competitor of Intel) I googled your exact CPU model and it says it's dual core. Actually you're really lucky that everything goes smooth for you becuase those specs are rather low (lol no offense, well as u said it's 5 yrs old...)

I have 6 cores / 8 RAM / my *lowest* speed on east coast US was 5 Mbps (I like to measure internet speed in different cities around the world and take into account what *could* be the lowest because if I measure near me it's turbo fast lol)

^basically my specs for the time being *should* be good but even that hasn't saved me from having all kinds of problems esp. in recent months...

The conclusion that I've come to good specs are not a guarantee from having technical problems (or there could be something else involved)

I use an Asus i7 with 9 megs of ram and it takes anything I can throw at it. You can find refurbished ones for a pretty good price sometimes. I wouldn't host with anything less if you have the money to invest.

I was going to buy a i7 Actually, The Processor on my laptop is a AMD and in the gaming rig its a Intel dual core, They both have the same problem, I know it couldnt be my internet!
And when i run it it says "CPU overload, chat colors disabled."
I spent over 1000 bucks on this gaming rig, It can handle any game with flying colors, just shows how strenuous the encoder is!

Oh yes do it! I have an utter beast of a gaming PC with fuck only knows how many hyperthreaded overclocked quad cores running an i7 with 16GB ram. It never ever ever gets above 3% capacity this is probably why:

    CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50GHz @ 4.80GHz Ivybridge CPU
    - Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
    - RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
    - Hard Drive: 60GB SSD, 120GB SSD & 1TB HDD
    - Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 w/ SLI

God, I'm wet just typing that shit

So when buying, should i look at the GHz , Or The cores? Most quads i am seeing run less Ghz then the Duals.

I fixed it!! All it needed was a tweak in the FPS tab! I had it set to high.
