Default Super tangly curls - best shampoo/conditioner/products?

This is the texture of my hair. It tangles like no tomorrow. I usually straighten it and that helps keep the tangled rat's nest at bay, but I do like to rock the curls sometimes, and those get all ravaged by the end of the day. It's a little alarming how much hair I lose when I'm trying to detangle it all in the shower!

Normally I just use whatever shampoo/conditioner is on sale, but can any of you ladies recommend some good detangling shampoos or conditioners? Or products that keep hair from tangling too much?

Don't shampoo your hair more than once a week. And use a ultra moisturizing conditioner and comb it through with a wide toothed comb.
I just started using Wen on my hair (3C texture/ tight s curl pattern) and that works pretty well so far, though it is kinda pricey.

I have super thick, curly hair that will dry out with the wrong products. Aveda be curly is awesome, thier waxy pomade is a godsend for shine, and there is this organis olive oil hair oil in the ethnic hair sectin at walmart that i love! Also nexxus split end repair conditioner (smells less herby than Aveda) hth.

    Thanks so much!

I never even thought about not shampooing, so I'll definitely give that a shot to see how it helps.

Second the limiting of shampooing. I think we have pretty similar hair types...though yours is waaaay longer so I can't even imagine how annoying it must get sometimes! Along with limiting shampoo, use a good restorative conditioner and/or try aragon or coconut oil once a week. I started using it a few months ago and have gotten sooooo many compliments on how shiny and smooth it makes my hair look! And it does help keep frizz at bay Other than that, when styling, let your hair mostly air dry and then smooth some curl serum into your hair and blow dry upside down using a diffuser, then hairspray the entire style. Also use a pick comb to detangle, it works much better than a brush, regular comb, or fingers when it comes to untangling all the knots. Don't forget to start at the bottom and work your way to the roots!!!

I disagree with the products recommended in this thread and this site will tell you why; http://www.naturallycurly.com/ You will be amazed at the dearth of information on the site. You will be able to choose your type of curl from a panel of examples and then read reviews of specific products used by other women with the same hair type.

Although one or two points were made which I use in my own routine. Wide tooth comb in the shower- no need to brush/comb again afterwards. Limit shampooing. If heat styling use a diffuser.

Was going to keeep typing but just realised Im about to run late for work.... Ahhhhhhh!
