Default Told I looked Too High Class! Wtf?

A man is sitting at the bar, he had come in with a friend and next I looked he was alone. So I walked on over. Hi, hi, how ya doing. We started talking and I come to find out he use to be a bouncer in the club years ago. In our conversation he tells me I look "Too high class", that I should wear more bikinis like the others girls.

I looked at him like he was crazy? What does that mean, that I don't look like a typical dancer? Sorry but my "high class" looks make me feel sexy and clean. Plus on stage I love strutting around with my dress on for a song to slowly peel it off on the second. I love hearing "wow" and "look at that" once it comes off. To me bikini leave little to the imagination, and I like to be mysterious, keep 'em guessing what's under that pretty dress til it comes off. Don't get me wrong, I've plenty of bikini outfits but dresses show my hour-glass shape wonderfully.

I've been told my many men that I don't look like a stripper, instead a beautiful woman. I've been told that I don't act like a stripper either, instead engaging in my customers like a normal person, not a 'customer'. I take all of this as a compliment!

But will it hurt my $ in the long run. I sometimes feel like I am not as aggressive with my sales, instead letting them come up with the idea of a lap dance and VIP. So far all of the ones I've gotten have been the idea of the man, not me!

Should I worry about being too high class or do my own thing and work it!?

Your work attire depends on the type of club and the crowd. Cater to your audience. As long as your outfits don't alienate your clientele, I think you're good. You wouldn't wear a gown at a shabby old dive bar and you wouldn't wear a ripped up t-shirt and cut off booty shorts at an upscale club.

Generally speaking, a 'high class' look is great. Our manager always tells us that we need to buy outfits that cover up a bit more (short dresses or gowns) and we'll make more money. If you're prancing around in nothing but a tback, where's the tease? why buy the cow...?

Personally, I love my classy outfits/look. I work at an upscale club and my entire look is well put-together and polished - hair, makeup, outfits/shoes, body, etc. My guys already know they'd better be ready to spend!

What it all boils down to is this: Wear what you want. Wear what makes you feel confident & hot. Wear what makes you money. If it's working for you, why change your entire persona over something that one guy said?

This totally nullifies his opinion. He's not your typical customer at all, so just brush his comment aside.

It's good to stand out from the other girls (ie. wearing dresses while the others all rock bikinis), especially if that look is more flattering on you, so it's not your outfits that will hurt your money in the long run. What WILL hurt your money is waiting around on customers to come up with the idea of a lap dance or VIP, because many customers will be perfectly content to sit around and enjoy your (free) company.

It's one thing to be friendly and not a total shark, but if all your sales are coming from customer's side, then you have no control over the interaction, and that's a problem. Like, it's great sometimes, but if you can't make a sale on your own because you're not aggressive enough, then you won't be successful for long. This has nothing to do with not acting like a stripper or engaging your customers like a normal person - a good hustler will do that while leading the conversation to a sale.

The best piece of advice I was given was to not think of it as asking for a dance or being aggressive, but rather as helping the customer. Consider this: customers come to strip clubs to relax and be entertained in the company of beautiful women who get naked and dance for them (or spend private time in the VIP). They want dances. They want to go to VIP. By not offering them a dance or VIP, you're depriving them of the experience they want to be having.

TLDR: stick with the classy look but get your hustle on!
