Default Help! I'm addicted to frappuccinos!

This summer I can't seem to stay away from those delicious frozen beverages. I usually get a mocha light frappuccino from Starbuck's which isn't too bad as far as calories go, but sometimes i go to my local coffee shop and get a frozen mocha with soy milk...and I know that stuff isn't reduced in calories. It wouldn't be so bad if I had one once or twice a week, but I seem to be getting one every day. Something about the frozen coffee goodness hits the spot on these hot summer days. I also just got prescribed adderall for ADD, so I'm substituting these for my daily morning coffee since they don't have very much caffeine. On the adderall caffeine is a little too much and makes me too hyper, which completely defeats the purpose of taking my meds. I'm trying to lose a little bit of weight and I know that this daily indulgence doesn't help. I'd rather make a frozen drink at home that's more cost-efficient as well as more nutritious. Anyone have any good recipes for maybe a protein drink or just something that is healthier that i can make at home? I'm not big into fruit smoothies.... I hate fruit for some reason. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My waistline and wallet will thank you!

I googled a recipe for the Starbucks Frozen Frapuccino, but since you will be making it yourself you can tailor the ingredients to fit your agenda!

    Ingredients:
3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold (Instead of the double strength coffee you can use decaf)
3 tablespoons granulated sugar (You could replace this with artificial sweeteners)
1 cup low-fat milk shopping list (Skim milk or soy milk?)
    2 cups ice
whipped cream (You could easily skip this!)
caramel topping, 3 Tbs (Also, skip this)
Hersheys Chocolate Syrup 3 tbs (You could also eliminate this, or at least lower it to one tbs)

I used to make a drink when I was in school as a snack with ice, choco syrup, some skim milk, and cinnamon. It was delicious refreshing and low cal (light on the syrup). I would make it when I craved ice cream. You could easily throw in some coffee, protein powder etc. to tailor it to flavors you like. Play around with different ingredients and have fun with it!

My french roommate made me a drink that tastes just like the frappucinos in the bottle. I think it was instant coffee, water, sweet and condensed milk, evaporated milk and cream.

If you wanted to make it lower calorie you could make your own low fat sweet and condensed milk (there are tons of easy recipes on Google) and leave out the cream. I find it really tasty and it satisfies my urge for sweet iced coffee (and only costs like 2$ to make a liter)

Yeah hella calories in those foofoo dessert drinks.

Maybe switch to an iced coffee, get it with half & half and sweetened. (not nearly as bas as those frapps).

I love coffee as long as its iced and creamy.

Or you can go with non fat or soy milk to make it healthier.

I have the same problem that Im copping one of these drinks everyday, for me its around 2 pm and I need on of these as a pick me up/plus I enjoy it. I do think that my exercise is fighting off the calories/badness of it all.

*Even better is if you make your own iced coffee at home...I wanna start doing that since Charbucks is making so much mula off me.

I was addicted to Caramel Frappucinos for so long! I felt that if I were to just stop allowing myself to have them or limit myself to once a week..I would just end up obsessing over them and want them more. So I started ordering Ventis instead and drank too many until I got tired of the overly sweetened syrupy taste.

You can have your favorite comfort food every night this week and not want it again until your next birthday.

I haven't been to starbucks in a while now.

My explanation for almost everything is if people can't have something or feel wrong about something they truely enjoy they will obsess over it and may even develop bizarre behavior around whatever they "can't" have. I stole that from the movie Kinsey and reading books about life in the US bible belt before the great depression (everything was repressed and everyone acted strange because of unnatural repression).
