Default Is your club slower now than it was last year?

Is it my imagination, or are the clubs slower now than they were even just last year? I'm in a lot of clubs each year and I cannot help but believe that a lot of them have slowed down since last year, even as the economy supposedly improves. And if your club is slowing down even more, how are you coping with it?

It could be the areas that I visit or even a mis-perception on my part based upon limited visits to each club in question. Idk, but I am curious to hear from others.

Also, how has the customer base changed? Who are the customer types who are sticking it out through thick and thin?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Idk about other areas but around me summer slows down, and August is the slowest month of all. Things get back to normal in the fall.

The economy is improving but, for most folks, discretionary income is not coming back. Hard for me to judge how busy the clubs are since I intentionally go on the slowest times of the week. I WAS in a club on a Saturday night last week and it was packed. As we all known a high body count doesn't mean that guys are spending. Over all my faves all say it's very slow compared to the past.

Key West clubs probably a little busier than the previous three summers. Not necessarily much more money, but a few more people. Encouraging. I will feel better of we have a strong Season this upcoming year (Season here is January-April). Last year Season was a little better, but the previous two sucked.

I can't say I've seen a difference in the past year, but it's a LOT better than it was 3 years ago. My club was dead then...

I only know what I've seen the past couple months but I do know the big spenders are almost exclusively drug dealers and their accountants.

Here it seems the weekends are lively. I've never gone to a club and not seen it packed at midnight. ( i've visited 3 unique clubs (couple of times) in the past six months and they're always full). Doesn't mean the money is flowing though - There is also a ton of dancers here... just that there are people going out. Some acquaintances were telling me they went in a large group and got a table/bottle service set up and the VIP area was full at one club....

I agree Rick! I dance all over the country and this past year I'm making about 20-30 % less per trip. New orleans, myrtle beach, denver ( august was worst I've seen here) and tampa bay which I haven't danced in over a year. Also the door count is around half as well and when it's packed guys arr not spending as much.

Things are definitely slower here in LA, at least during daytime. I jump around between alot of clubs, and many of the dancers know this. They never used to ask me how other clubs are doing, but they do now. I sadly have to tell them to not bother jumping around since the grass ain't greener. The dancers are much more predatory now, too. Sometimes I don't even get to my seat before being pounced on by desperate dancers trying to make rent.

Speaking for Vegas exclusively - it's a LOT slower. A LOT. And not just the SC's. Last couple of years were really bad; this year is notably worse. There are still girls making good money, but there are fewer of them, they're putting in more hours, and the clubs are getting noticeably - okay, substantially - dirtier as many girls try to "do what they have to" to make money from the people that DO walk in the door.

And as I said - it's not just the SC's. Many of the high-end retailers are closing down stores in teh casino shops and relying on distribution from chain stores now. Other retailers are offering crazy sales or bringing in lower-priced stuff to try to get people to shop there. Many have downsized. Empty office space and retail space is everywhere; some whole developments are empty. Conventions are canceling or dramatically downsizing; attendance is way down too, and those that do attend aren't spending like they used to - not even close.

I'm to the point where I'm actually offended at the stats the government and news casts show about employment; a quick poll of people I know in several social circles and income levels quickly shows that while number of unemployed has dropped (very) slightly, total income is down dramatically. Many have accepted jobs at half or less of what they used to make or are working two jobs to make 3/4 of their previous income. Bankruptcy lawyers are so busy they barely have time to consult new clients. And I"m just going over the high points here; the bottom line is, this is much, much worse than we're "told", and in Vegas it's even worse than that.

A few additional observations on this...

One thing I've noticed is that all of my favs ask me now if the other clubs I go to are busy or not. This never used to happen. Also, at the clubs in my are a three shift per week minimum is fairly common for dancers. For years my favs worked the three shifts and that was pretty much it..well, OK, the Brazilian girls always worked more but that's pretty common with the South American dancers. In any event, most of my faves are working at least four shits a week now with more doubles and even a fifth shift if they have a really slow week. This is not to make MORE money, it's to try and make what they would have in the past.

Also, I've noticed a lot less of a money bump on night shifts or weekend shifts now vs. a few years ago. Saturday nights are actually some of the worst nights in a few clubs I go to as far as dancer quantity and quality. Several clubs in my area now have a mandatory one-weekend-shift per week rule for all dancers. Lol, I can remember a few years ago when girls fought for the weekend night shifts. Now, with the money being about the same, they would rather have a life and spend the weekends with their families or otherwise having a life.

One of the best kept secrets of some day girls has always been the fact that Monday afternoons can be a great shift! My ATF has, in fact, banned me from visiting her on Mondays since she has so many regulars she knows she won't be able to spend any quality time with me. While day shift, in general, may not be any better than it used to be the money has become about the same as what the girls at night can earn and with a lot less hassle. Daytime guys are older, generally come in alone and have money to spend. Night shifts are definitely a higher stress environment.

rick, i think we are in the same general area... my club in mass has slowed down SOOOO so much. its bad. so many girls asking about different clubs etc but there is really no where to go (or it wont be much different). but its taught me to really hustle and find the higher quality customers so i've actually doubled my money from last summer even though it was busy. when its busy you get lazy and feel like the money is guaranteed so you slack. i've only been working the 3 required shifts a week but my money has gone up because i've improved myself as a dancer.

yes, the clubs are slow, but you don't need the club to be busy, you need it to be busy for YOU. whether there is 1 guy or 100 guys in the club. you cant win every night but girls gotta do their best to make it happen.

This is exactly the attitude that dancers need and not nearly enough have. I club in Mass and RI. My ATF has said almost the exact same things that you just posted to me many times over the past year or so. Her club is slow but her money is still good. She does have to work four shifts now since the club imposed a four shift rule last fall but she makes the best of every shift. Cultivating better customers is definitely a huge part of it. She has much less patience now with the guys who want to bend her ear for 30 minutes and only buy one or two dances than she used to. Also, she has mentioned more than once that many of the other girls are making it easier for her by "checking out" and getting lazy by mid shift if they don't see a lot of guys in the club.

I stopped by another Mass club (not the one that my ATF works at) a couple of weeks ago that I hadn't visited for a couple of years. it was a Monday afternoon and I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed when the waitress came over and told me that they only had two girls on as she handed me a couple of free passes for a future visit. Well, guess what? I had the time of my life in that club for almost three hours with only the two dancers that were working! They were both engaging, sexy as all get-out on stage (even with the DJ making them do four or five song sets) and both got plenty of my money. The funniest part is I had walked out of another club about an hour earlier with many more dancers working and not a decent attitude among them! It's really not about quantity on either side of the tip rail. It's all about quality.

Some nights there is seriously 0 guys in the place. I remember one night we just just sitting around and fucking around with the music - doing stupid moves. Fuckin around with the managers. Heck even the DJ showed us a few moves of his.
Other nights there are maybe 3 guys - and 15 girls. 1 is paying - and that 1 girl isn't moving. She's even payed a buy off so that she doesn't leave her guy to us. And the rest are the "I don't pay for dances" type of guys telling us how immoral our job is, yet I catch them looking at my ass as I walk away. We're not free!
I hope it picks up a bit better soon. Hell I have A.D.D so I need regular movement for myself - and this "I don't get dances" guy asked what type of drugs I was on.... *facepalm* Just because I'm hyper and have nothing to keep me entertained but myself means I have a drug problem? Oh it's gotta be because I'm a dancer right? stereotypical stripper stuff right?

I hate these guys want to come out and see free boobs. No they don't tip on stage or anything. They state they have no money. They know this isn't just a bar. And they are looking for someone to go home with. ERG!

well, i made $20 after tipout tonight even though i was hustling and smiling and being giggly and nice, asking for dances but not being pushy, etc. as far as i know, doing everythign right. definitely no shortage of guys in the club. just shortage of spendage.

My club has been busier, even during day shift. Im happy I do have to agree with Yoda and missdancypants ( I know I misspelled your name - sorry hon!) Its not about the quantity of customers, but rather the quality of customers.

Example: last night my club was packed. I left with a little more than $800. Only about $100 or so of that money came from stage tips and a single lap dance I did at the beginning of my shift. The rest came from 2 amazing customers that I had a wonderful time with in VIP .As a dancer you have to have the ability to discern good quality customers from the rest of the crowd.

I noticed that my club does seem slower. Luckily i have a very good regular, who might be a drug dealer because he won't tell me what he does for a living, but tells me that he hardly works, and he is always carrying around a huge wad of 100's. But overall, it doesn't really pick up in the club until midnight and even those guys are non-spender types.

I don't go to regular clubs but I heard that girls are dressing like strippers and acting even sluttier. That could be one of the many reasons.
