Democrats are no more pro-sex worker than Republicans. In fact, Massachusetts, one of the most liberal states in the country, is very tough on both strip clubs and escorts. The state has tough no contact laws, cities and towns that severely limit where strip clubs can open and a state police force that expends a ton of resources each year just to net a few escorts and their johns. Conversely, places like Texas and Florida, the first very conservative and the second somewhat conservative, have a shit load of strip clubs, including some of the loosest clubs in the country.

The reality is that there are elements in both parties that dislike sex work. In the Republican party, it is the religious nuts who view sex workers as contributors to moral decay. In the Democratic party, it is the feminists and feminist-sympathizers who think that they need to save sex workers and/or who blame sex workers for objectifying women.

IMHO, how it plays out in any given state depends not only on the party in control, but on how much influence certain elements in each party have upon governmental actions in that state.

I agree with you about Eliot Spitzer. I'm fully in favor of legalized prostitution. Eliot Spitzer got what he deserved, for prosecuting people while he was engaging in the same type of activities himself.

Hypocrites exist on both sides of the aisle. I wouldn't even consider trying to defend hypocritical conservatives, but the democrats attacking the GOP, supposedly in the interests of women and then having Clinton (accused of 1 rape, 2 sexual assaults, and the Lewinsky debacle) as the keynote speaker is the very pinnacle of hypocrisy.

This convention is bringing NO bisiness. I stay right across the street from were most of the delegates are staying( yesterday since they were expecting the huriricane weather) they had a huge party kid rock and a ton of celebrities....I worked and my girlfriend at the 2 best clubs her we had 5 people through the door they had a few more but no one made much. I also worked at a famous club in tampa the other night again ....nothing. Thee republicans aren't going to be out spending. I remember when I started dancing in Denver and they had the dnc there( I skipped it) and that was when the economy was much better and the girls said it was their worst week in years.....not even regular conventions are a guarantee of stellar money nowadays, believe me that's how I make my living.....traveling to places for conventions, events.

That is an excellent point. In fact, from what I have been reading, reporters are camping out at the strip clubs in the hopes of catching convention members in the act, so to speak.

^ I met 2 a couple....who weren't married and hook up 4 time a year at the republican events. They asked me were they could get cocaine and party after the club closed because you know most states have places like that. Lmfao!
