    Default PC health! Serious problem!

I posted this in the pc health sticky, but I don't know how often people read those!

Need some help badly! I ended up with a ton of viruses, since I started camming. Originally had AVG. My PC kept crashing hard and I talked to some peeps here about it, they suggested Avast, and Malwarebytes, etc.

I went ahead and downloaded both, REMOVED my AVG completely. And all was well. Then yesterday I left for the night out of town, got back today, and my Malwarebytes was gone, my Avast was gone, and my AVG was back in avengance!!! WTF?

How does that even happen? I'm pissed. I removed AVG again, downloaded Malware, again, downloaded Avast, again. Now what? What's to stop if from happening again. And WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?!

    Thanks.
    I just gotta be me!

If you or someone else ran system restore it would undo whatever changes you made (removing avast and malware) and restore your computer back to an earlier date (one where you had avg installed)

To stop it from happening again you should delete all but the most recent system restore point. the easiest way to do that is to run the built in disk cleanup. Its found under start-all programs-accessories-system tools- click the more options tab and at the bottom you'll see where it says system restore-clean up and follow the prompts.

If anything just re install windows. You can bring your computer back to factory settings fairly easy.

Sounds like you actually downloaded the AVG virus software. I've done this before on other systems and the only fix I know of is a complete format and reinstall of windows.

I know AVG is supposed to be a trusted anti-virus, but there are mirror sites which are actually massive viruses and nothing I tried to get rid of it worked. My brother is an IT and told me the only fix was to reformat. Save everything you need as far as docs and pics either on disc or through emailing them to yourself and then do it. If you let it go it will eventually start getting worse.
