    Default Red lipstick

How the hell do some girls make it look so glamorous, but I look like a fucking transexual when I wear it?!

    Just not my color...I guess...

I think it tends to look a bit harsh, maybe try a gloss, or gloss over lipstick?

Maybe a more raspberry shade? I only feel like the dark shades look good in the late fall to winter on me. Normally I'm a nude lip or pale pink type but sometimes I jazz it up with one of those raspberry shade lip butters.

You just have to find a shade that works for you. Fire engine red looks like shit on me but scarlet looks amazing. Just buy a few cheap ones in different shades and see what works. Also your blond and pale so reds tend to look harsh.

Read somewhere it is best to go 1-2 shades darker then your natural lip.

I could never pull off red either and I could tell it turned some men off. One was even bold enough to tell me my lips made him think of Ronald Mcdonald lol. So never again or at least not while im working. Now when I wear pink, fuschia, or peach gloss the men seem to love it.

I only like it on me when my skin is very pale. I prefer a more matte red.

You can also use a pink lip liner to liner the lips and full in the lips then apply red lipstick so it's a pinky red and not a harsh 1950's red.

I'm a pale, white girl with full lips and dark hair, and berry-red is a flattering color on me. Red looks awful, lol.

I'd play around and see if you look better with blue-red or orange-red. I knew a girl with cool skin tones who actually looked better with orange red.

Red lipstick is dramatic so it will look strange to you.

Most reds turn fuchsia on me because I have so much yellow in my skin.

My fave red lipstick is MAC's Viva glam #1. Its the only red lipstick i wear.

Definitely try out different shades - there are so many different reds, and some will look amazing, while others WILL make you look like the Joker....

Speaking of which, application makes a huge difference. Always use a liner with red lipstick, but it's also a good idea to get a concealer (preferably a pencil, or just something with a really thick consistency) and line outside your lips with that. That way, even if a bit of the liner smudges, the wax in the concealer will fill in any tiny lines around your lips, and you won't get bleeding. And blot. A lot.

It will also take you a while to get used to seeing yourself with very dark or bright lips - it is such a change that it looks too much at first.

I also have very pale skin (with red hair, not blonde) and there are a few truer reds that I can pull off, but for the most part I stick to the darker ones - red browns aren't too harsh for me.
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

I go with red lip stain. Color Sensational Lipstain by Maybelline in Cherry Pop is super red. Put on heavier in middle then blend to corners to avoid the transexual look

Ugh. Same here. I look like a fucking idiot wearing it, cannot pull it off for shit. Doesn't look great either since my teeth aren't as white as they could be...I am dark haired and find that raspberry and darker colors tend to work on me.

I LOVE wearing red lipstick. I do not wear light colors though...it tends to make me look dead.

i'm white but i have a really warm, yellow-orange-y skintone and warm red is the only color that looks good on me.

if i wear pink or nude i look like a transsexual. seriously. or one of those japanese styles where they overtan and put concealor on their lips.

everyone's got different stuff that works!

Depends on the shape of the lips - It looks great on full lips that are round and heart shaped but look trannyesque on thin lips. Also when doing red lips keep the eyes simple with just black eye liner

Depends on your skin tone, how you do your makeup and your hair color. I pretty much live in red lipstick!

sounds weird but go to Walmart to the ''nyc'' makeup section and they have tons of cheap lipstick (to save some cash) most are like 2 bucks....buy different shades of red.....classic red, maroon-ish color, coral/red, etc.... and try them on. Then when you get a shade that looks right go back and buy a nicer lipstick/stain close to the same color you like!

Also on some people if you do the red lipstick thing you gotta kinda ighten up the eye makeup a tad bit so it's not overwhelming....but also remember in strip club lighting it will look different anyway!
