WWW Cities where it is easy to work without a car

so what cities are good for someone to dance who does not have a car. i think this would require hte clubs being relatively central or maybe 24 hr public transportation (although this could be dangerous).

New Orleans is one city where you dont need a car to dance. you are going to need to park a few blocks from the club anyway. it is easy to walk to work, and most clubs have bouncers that will walk you back to anywhere in the french quarter or to a taxi which can easily take you back to wherever you are staying.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Athena I don't rent a car to any of the areas I travel, just figure out what club you think your interested in and go on trip advisor and put in the address and how far you want to be from the location. I didn't even drive when I worked in West palm(even though it's only 3 hours from me) I just got a hotel across the street. I would think most areas have hotels within a few miles from any club you want to work.

I would recommend Key West or Atlantic City.

    Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens.

If you want to stay in NYC for a while you could either rent a room in NYC or save some money and rent a place in Newark in the Ironbound neighborhood. Ironbound is right next to Newark Penn Station and it's a $5 ticket and 2 stops from New York Penn Station.

^ will look into those options too, last time in NYC spent loads on a hotel, would love to spend a while in my Favourite city next visit instead of staying most of my visit in PA.

Casper, Wyoming. There's a shuttle from the best western to the club (which is called Racks now not cowboys) and you can almost always hitch a ride w someone if you need to if you offer a few dollars for gas.

I always did really well there btw. Worth the trip. They also have an Airport right in Casper. It's where they fly in girls from Cali and Vegas. If u want more info pm me.

I live in Ironbound. I commuted from here to NYC to work for like 2 months while my car had a blown engine. Getting to work via train was faster than it would have been to drive. Getting home from work via train took like 2 hours though and by car it's about a 20 minute drive. I was also robbed on June 1st when I was coming home from the Bronx and I bought a car like a week later so I didn't have to use public transportation ever again. So just a heads up, it's an easy commute and all but the car that I bought was $100 less than the amount that I was robbed for. So weigh your options and just think of your safety and mental health because getting robbed was enough to drive a sane person homicidal.

Sorry to hear that you got robbed, I found the Bronx scary and used to get a cab there from Manhattan, I used same driver always because I found some were crazy, I will find out how much a cab would be from Ironbound , and will prob stay Manhattan for a few days aswell, thankyou for sharing your experience x

The DC area has a pretty nifty public transportation system. There are two clubs (that i know of) that are close to metro stops. They are schedule nazis down here though, lol.

That's terrible Lexy!! Thankfully you were able to get a car so quickly. Do you think it was someone from the club who noticed you or it was purely coincidence? They got so much $ from you, it would embolden them to strike someone again especially if they knew or realized you are a dancer.

I used to leave my club then head to Brooklyn and walk 15 blocks to my apartment at 4am with my headphones in my ears and not a care in the world. One day passing a bodega on the route, I saw a sign from the cops asking for information for a woman who was raped just a few days before, in public, around that time of night. It made a light bulb go off, and I switched to dayshift until I can get my license reinstated again. Just not worth it! I never feared because I lived in a somewhat safe area of Brooklyn. Or so I thought.

^ I had actually dozed off while I was on the platform waiting for the train and when I woke up my work bag was gone. The cops told me a lot of people go around and cut the straps on bags to snatch them so I'm guessing it was just a common thief, not someone that followed me from the club. Either way, fuck that guy. The money in my bag wasn't worth half of what my outfits were and lord knows, the guy who stole my bag threw my outfits right into the trash. Literally everything I needed to earn a living was in there and besides the money and my ipod, no one would have a use for any of it. My mom suggested that maybe it was a crackhead and they probably have never had that much money at one time and maybe they went out and bought a bunch of crack and OD'd. That made me feel better and that's how I sleep at night.

That wasn't my only horror story on the train though. My last day before I bought my car, I had a feeling something bad was going to happen because I figured my last day on the train would end with a bang.. and it did. I was on a NJ transit train, in a window seat, and I was dozing off a bit while the train was waiting in the station. Then some insane French guy came and sat next to me, mind you, the train car was mainly empty and he tapped me and said "Don't worry, you can keep sleeping... I'll be right here." Immediately I asked him to get up so I could get out of the seat and he didn't so I squeezed by him anyway and sat in a different empty seat and he tried talking to me the entire way even though I told him in plain English to leave me alone. Then he got off at my stop in Newark and tried to grab my hand while saying he needed help getting home. I flipped and made a bit of a scene but that did the trick and he left me alone.

You are so right that it just isn't worth it. The freaks really do come out at night and being in the safety of a car can make all the difference in the world.

If you can afford to live in SF, there's no reason to have a car here. I keep seeing a lot of girls on this board hate it, but I do pretty good, 1000-2000 per week (depending on how hard I work), and a cab home is usually only like 10 bucks.

Honolulu has a great public bus system (not to mention all the other great things about Hawaii). The city is pretty condensed so most areas are covered which made it easy to get around. I used to take a bus to work and then a cab home at 2AM.

If it's any consolation Lexy, you're not alone. Lack of 'security' was the reason that I quit working in Queens etc. IMHO where NYC and significant amounts of dancer earnings are concerned, the only acceptable 'security' arrangement involves working in Manhattan clubs plus staying in a nearby Manhattan hotel. Granted that this arrangement is not cheap !!! ... but neither is being ripped off.

In Seattle I sometimes took the bus to work and cabbed home, or even if I cabbed both ways it was only like $10 a ride since I lived on Capitol Hill and worked downtown. Portland is similar, if you work somewhere close to downtown and live centrally those cities are fine without a car.

I can has more info? Like, house fees, is it topless or nude, bikini or gown, the rules for dances, and a rough idea of what the earnings range is? I would love to be up north for a bit for the fall. PM me if you'd prefer.
