I always thought it was tacky, but lately I've had several different clients tell me I should have one on my site because they want to get me gifts but don't know what to buy. So I added one, and put something about how I was putting it up by request, but of course, the gentleman's time was what I valued most or whatever.

Why not guys actually read them...
Many of the obstacles you once imagined are not even there.

Considering I've gotten everything on my wishlist (except the car lol) I'd say not tacky at all. I keep my wishlist on its own separate page so that its not in anyones face... At the bottom of my FAQ page, there is a link to my wishlist. Its so hidden and buried that a guy would have to be looking, researching and want to see it.
Most of what is on there are gift cards, flowers, types of wines I like, etc. All of the bigger ticket items were bought.. between my bday and Christmas the guys came bearing gifts. Im also thinking of adding specific trips and destinations since I've been getting more travel dates.
Anyway.. I think putting it on its own separate page is less intrusive and in your face than having a wishlist at the bottom of pages with other unrelated info. Especially not a rates page.. rates are required and seeing a wishlist on that page may give them the idea you expect and require a gift too.

I get a lot of tips I am not sure if it is because I say on my site that if you are a custom to tipping that add-on of 15% to 20% is acceptable now I am considering adding a wish list page or section on the about me page its just a matter of what looks better when it comes to navigating my website. I do get gifts that are not listed on my site but they are not exactly gifts I enjoy suchs wines well I am not a drinker so my wine gifts usually get re-gifted. but clients seem to want to give me a bottle of this and a bottle of that.
when really a gift certificate to my fav coffee shop will keep me happy I am not trying to have this long list of gifts I have seen on other providers sites but a simple here are my favorite things would be nice to have if your interested in getting them.

Awe thanks Nikki!!
Minnie... The most popular gift item guys love giving are perfumes/ bath stuffs. Instead of listing brands/ specific scents, I list the types of scents and notes I prefer. Guys LOVE going into a shop and being able to get me something I'll like, but that it will still be a surprise to me.
Even though I list about 5 GCs, I usually get Victorias Secret. And a few gave given me the Spa Wish certs which are awesomeI also have gotten books, and key chains and post cards (I collect them) so my wish list really ranges in price... And yeah the guys are so excited about it. Heck me too though lol

I used to think, "why would anyone buy me anything when they are already buying my services?" but once the wishlist went up a client sent me some jewelry - a week before our scheduled first meeting! Nothing on my wishlist is over $100. Mostly CDs, candles, lingerie & books. My more creative customers buy the books then put my fee inside of it.
Still waiting on a LeCruset but I guess that's never going to happen, lol.
As long as you're not constantly putting it in their faces its not a big deal. For every guy who finds wishlists offensive there is another guy clicking the checkout button.
It's not about what you do for a living, it's about who you want to be.

yeah this is where my expensive tastes in my blue collar city bite my ass! the guys always complain about wishlists, and really I don't get many gifts. so I would put mine on my blog (so like others said they really have to be looking for it)
plus since I'm so small there's really only one brand of lingerie that fits me and they're very expensive too, and I don't drink and can't have chocolate so what's left to buy me? it just depends on you, just be discreet about it and you ought to be fine.

There's LOTS Dixie! You could take and try my idea with the scents... Like for example, if you like vanilla, say that instead of specifically telling them what to buy you. You could end up with $2 vanilla candle, a $5 vanilla sugar scrub, a $60 perfume with vanilla notes, whatever, you'll like it and they get to pick something in their budget.
I also have stuff I collect on mine like postcards... Guys think its adorable that I collect something lol and its so cheap but when they travel esp internationally, they know I'll really appreciate it. (And its easy to hide from an SO)
I also have gc for southwestern air and living social. I like unusual watches so I say that with a link to a steampunk watch as an example. Use your imagination! Besides.. the more interesting it is, the more likely a guy will want to get you anything.
It's so standard for ladies to stick lingerie, chocolate and wine on her WL... Its boring if that's all a girl says she wants anyway lol Have stuff that would actually catch a guys interest for being different, and will make you happy to get!

And a car.... If you get one and you don't want it, just tell me where to come pick it up
For real... kiddo gets her licence in a couple months and she's going to need a car. She's not picky... But her fav color is blue... Heehee!

yikes - i remember when mine got their license my insurance went sky high - they put them on a expensive sports car that i had at the time - there was no way in hell they were ever going to drive it but they insisted that it was their policy to rate them on the highest car in the household - bastards - i put that car in my mom's name - now you will have a little errand runner / helper

Thanks Sharpie! Good ideas........

Glad I could help Dixie!
Oh Nikki.... I'm so not looking forward to the expense! But I promised! Lucky for me my most expensive car is my only car... A KIA heehee! But its listed as one of the top inexpensive suvs to insure which is good. And in two years I'm selling my car and moving which is even better![]()

There are a lot of great suggestions here. I have a gift list hidden internally on my site. On my rates page and my FAQ page I state that tips and gifts aren't expected, but if they want to give me some pretty little token they can find a list of my favorite things HERE. They have to click on the word 'here' to be taken to the page, otherwise it can't be found anywhere on the site. I don't want to create the image of someone who will always be asking for more and more so I think that was the best way for me to do it.

I just launched a website and it has an advertising for entertainment and classified sections. Offers tipping and wish lists as well... Might be a little more classy and attract the right clientele. It should always be quality over quantity. Besides, who doesn't want to be spoiled...

you dont have to make a separate page.just add a link at the bottom of your rates page to an amazon wishlist(or whatever). it's not try hard or annoying & you dont have to keep answering the same question over & over.i've gotten about 100 wishlist gifts in the past 2 years.it works
