Default Just starting - camera suggestions

So me any my fiance are going to start a couple cam somewhere to make money for our wedding. At this time our biggest concern is the camera. We are looking for an affordable video camera under the $100.00 mark. The cheaper the better, but were picky about choppy images so that is a must for us, especially the indoor quality with good lighting. We could care less about its ability to take still images, just the video portion of the device at this time. Any suggestions?

the general consensus seems to be that the Logitech 9000 is preferred by most cammers, as some of the other top choices give an incredibly detailed image quality that is a bit too detailed for some, myself included. The descriptor 'forensic' has been used in relation to the Logitech C910, for example

You can get a 9000 on amazon for under $100, or look around stores in your area. Since it's an older model, it will tend to be less expensive anyway

here's a thread that discusses a series of different logitech webcam options:

if you'd like to read further, do a search of the work 'logitech' using the search box up at the top right

while you're here, since you're new to camming, please check out this thread to ensure that you don't accidentally sign up to a cam studio instead of directly signing up to a cam site:

good luck, and welcome to sw

Thank you loveshooks! That was really informative, and I would have to agree, just yesterday I was chatting with some of the ladies in the general chat and one linked me her live cam with her using the 9000, it was decent alll around We really like those little gorrilla tripods, so were not sure if were going to go with a more portable camera for other use as well that has streaming capabilities or just go with the logitech that clips onto the monitor.

Instead of shelling out for a tripod, you can very easily (i.e. with a rubber band) attach the logitech 9000 (and a few of the other logitech models, and probably any webcam really, if you're creative and stubborn enough) to the neck of a bottle. I use a wine bottle, personally, and it works perfectly as a tripod. I can move it around literally anywhere, turn it, pivot it, set it on the floor and tilt it up (uspkirt!), set it on a high shelf and tilt it down (bird's eye view!), everything. A wine bottle has a much smaller ''footprint" than a tripod, so it's SUPER versatile.

Unless for some reason you WANT a tripod.. I don't know. Just wanted to let you know you can absolutely make do without one.
