Default 6 days to plan a boob job...

I've reached the day before my boob job. Not that it didn't come around much faster than I expected though...
This time tomorrow I will be just about out of recovery and ready to go home.

I went for my consult on Tuesday, with a plan to do them at the end of the month, but really wanted to go to the clinic near my home, instead of Bondi (other side of the city). That very day they had a cancellation at North Shore, meaning they could fit me in, otherwise the next vacancy there was late October. GREAT! Until the "oh, by the way, the vacancy is for Moday." THIS Monday. Cripes!

So I have been racing around like a crazy person, getting things ready, washing, preparing, and finally, sitting my ass on SW to record my thoughts. A kind of booby journal.

Everything around the surgery has worked out perfectly, from finding that I had enough saved to schedule it early (I didn't think I had enough for my recovery) to the cancellation at the clinic, to my partner having the exact days off for the consult and my first recovery day on Tuesday. I forgot to take some of my vitamins/supplements for a few weeks (before even booking my consult) which is lucky as I would have had to postpone another 2 weeks otherwise. I hadn't been drinking much, and it's generally just perfect timing. Everything just worked and I take that as a good sign. I was also blessed with a great night at work last night (fingers crossed for tonight also) Some of the lovely caring ladies at work also took time to talk to me about their experiences, which was really appreciated (including our lovely mod here jessie-tinydancer) also, 2 of the girls had the same surgeon, so it made me feel a bit more relaxed.

As for the boobs themselves, they are 460cc (cripes again!) under muscle, textured, round, high profile and Natrelle? I think. British made anyway, really soft and nice. I went though every suitable implant he had before they went and got these ones from the other room. I found the difference between what I had been looking at (which were Mentor) and the Natrelles was quite remarkable. They were so soft by comparison, and visably rippled a lot less than the Mentors when held up. The covering was also a nicer/more refined quality. Almost like a fine velvet. I will be asking for the exact name of them when I go for the surgery, so I will post it here afterwards.

The surgeon was great, from his advice, to picking up on a slight scoliosis in my back (I was so nervous I forgot EVERYTHING I had to ask him, including this) and advising treatment before my surgery date to ensure a good result, to his general manner, I really dug him, he was great.

Finally, my partner has been the most awesome, supportive, amazing help. Listened to everything during the consult (again, nerves made me forget everything) is picking me up, caring for me, giving advice (as he has had a cosmetic procedure on his chest too) and just general awesomeness. It makes to world of difference...

So, so excited, will no doubt be on here more as the days go by and I go stir crazy in the house.
The moment of a lifetime is almost here, leaving for the clinic in 17 hours and counting...

Thanks for your wishes hun, all went well and now I have big hard boobies up to my neck, lol.
Off to have my drains removed now. Flying along on Valium and oxycodone.

Theyre not as big as I expected considering they used 460cc, but I think they'll suit me and I can always upsize later. Don't think much larger would have fit anyway.

So, traveling pretty well, mostly alert and limited pain, all good so far.

Theyll get bigger when you loosen up! The skin and muscle is squishing them right now.

UPDATE: Day 3- the itching..... ohhhh the itching!!!!
Crazy itchy today. Had an antihistamine which helped a ton, but the incisions are starting to heal so very itchy. It's the first day off the Valium and my back muscles are feeling it today, but I seem to be healing up well. Seem to get the most pain at about 3-5pm every day, get a bit vague and need to eat and have some more painkillers. Getting through the rest of the day OK without them.
My girlfriend has been staying so I have someone to pick up the kettle and reach high shelves for me, and remind me when I need to eat.
All going well so far. Shape is a bit different between the 2, but hoping when there's less swelling they will even out.
Yawn. Endone makes me warm and fuzzy...

^ I don't remember much of what happened after my surgery. I remember sleeping, having husband clean my incisions (I was in too much pain to do it myself) and PAIN. lots and lots of PAIN. oh and nausea, painkillers make me nauseous. The first thing I remember with a clear memory is taking a walk and being nervous about being seen with not-dropped up-to-my-chin boobs lol

Good luck on the healing process - in a few weeks you won't remember the recovery period - and I am sure that you will look and feel fabulous. (.)(.)

Hmm, I've been pretty with it for most of the time. The only memory loss I have was after climbing onto the table in the operating theatre, I don't think they told me they were putting me under at the time, they just did it.
I've had back pain since I was a teenager, so maybe my pain tolerance is pretty good, or maybe which meds you're given for pain make a difference? I haven't been nauseous or out of it (tho I get a bit silly just after a painkiller- my bf always knows when I've had one)
The girls are still really hard and square and abnormally perky, but I'd be too dizzy to go for a walk, I get short of breath fairly quick and dizzy standing up for more than 5-10mins, but I guess that will improve in a few days. Walk would be nice at the moment, it's sunny and lovely in the day time.

Your recovery sounds normal and you were really prepared. Actually, your recovery sounds a lot better than mine. I was sooo sick! Lol. Anyway, I would hold off on the walk if you get dizzy and maybe just sit outside for a half hour. Get plenty of rest, heal up good before you go back to work. Looking forward to pictures.

Back pain was def the worst for me. I think I mentioned that b4. Your small like me so all the skin is pulling your shoulders forward. I couldnt even straighten my back properly till week 6 skin was soooo tight. I was still taking pain killers after a week and the nurses were like wtf? Youre only supposed to do that a few days.

Man... Day 6 today and the pain this morning was fucking awful... Worse than any day so far.
Cooked myself with endone and slept... Just waking back up now, groggy and nauseous with a headache.
    Today is worst....

Yeah, I cant stand up straight yet... Seems like I need the extra room that slouching forward a bit creates.

So end of day 6 (5? Actually I think it's technically 5) update: this morning was awful. Woke up with nasty amounts of pain in the morning.
I have to confess, my bf and I did try to (gently) have sex the night before, but I had to make him stop as the discomfort was too bad. I was warned to wait 2 weeks, but we are always horny and we both wanted to.
Dont rush this. Bad idea. Our gentle is another persons rough, too, I guess.
Anyway, between that and helping in the kitchen that night and generally overdoing it, I felt like shit this morning. Smashed a painkiller when I woke, slept a few more hours, and got up feeling worse. Tried to drink some tea and threw up. Laid down a while, them had another tea and some panadol, then fell asleep. Woke up feeling fine. Thank goodness for that!
Spent most of the afternoon on the couch without moving, and my SO got me some Panadeine Forte, which I have a better tolerance for as a painkiller.
Bad day to be sick as he was out all day and my girlfriend was super tired and fast asleep most of the day. Guess that figures as she's been doing so much for me the last few days while the boy is at work.
    Anyway, better now.
Have started putting heat on the boobs to relax the muscles. Just one of those wheat packs that go in the microwave. Feels amazing! Highly recommend doing this once the swelling and itching settles.
I have noticed that the left side seems larger, and has more swelling, I think because my dominant right side is tighter in the muscle (squeezing the implant) and also more mobile, reducing the swelling quicker. They look pretty amazing for such new boobs tho, I have had one bruise the size of a 5c piece at the incision site, and that's all, and my nipples are starting to react to touch again, although I still have no feeling in them.
So mostly all is well, though my body is reacting to the meds quite differently than a few days ago, just gonna go with my instincts and take Panadeine forte instead of endone wherever I can, the Endone are just too strong and making me sick now.

Will update more later, this is turning into my booby journal of sorts...

    Hope everyone is well....

Glad youre feeling better than yesterday. Couple things. Did your Doc say its ok to have sex after 2 weeks? Most say 4-6? The reason is because having sex like exercise increases your blood pressure. Increased blood pressure puts you at risk for further internal bruising as blood floods the area and dislodgment of clots that are an important part of healing. Its not as much to do with the movement as the issues associated with BP and increased heart rate.

Also did he recommend heat? That surprises me too. Right now your body is still having a pretty intense inflammatory reaction to both trauma and a foreign object. A main feature of inflammation is heat so adding heat to heat could be damaging to cells. I would recommend ice personally but I guess if thats what he suggested follow it, but Im just surprised it was suggested so soon.

Dont forgot the outside and incision sites might look great but the entire inside is a wound and will be for several weeks. Every doc recommends something different so it gets confusing. Sounds like you are listening to your body which is the best idea.

They gave me a book of post-op instructions which said 2 weeks, although did mention not to do strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks. I think I'll die of shock if I have to wait that long... Might be something I'll check, was planning to call tomorrow and ask about the valium, as I feel like I still need it to calm the muscle tightness and pain in my back, and I am all out.

Ice was only recommended for 48 hours, though I have used it longer, whenever I feel I need it. Basically, if my boobs are feeling hot or tight or swollen, I use ice. If they're not badly swollen, but the muscles are hurting (more towards the end of the day) I use the heat over the stretched muscle in the upper breast/chest area, away from the incision site. It wasn't recommended, but basically nothing has been advised after 48hrs of icing them. Just basing it off how I have treated past injuries. Seems to be working ok.

Been OK today, not much pain, tho I couldn't sleep last night, so have just rested a lot today. Hardest thing is remembering to eat, I'm usually hopeless, but I know my body needs to the fuel to recover. At least I'm crazy hungry a lot, but probably not as often as I should be eating... On that note, I'm going to find something to eat.

Day 7 post op: My boobies are a week old today!
Rested a lot today, I dunno, I seem to be having more pain than I expected, but it turned a corner today in the afternoon and improved a lot. My right boob has been sitting quite a bit lower and smaller, but has evened out a lot in size today. Pain up near my armpits/upper chest has mostly stopped, which truly was the worst to deal with. So yeah, turned a corner pain and mobility wise today, and was actually awake all day, no naps. Feels a bit more promising, especially after starting to wonder how much longer the crazy muscle-spasm type of pain would last. Planned to call the clinic this afternoon for more Valium if it hadn't improved, so I'm glad I got better.

Be looking forward to being free of the dizziness that the painkillers give me, so I can start to get some exercise, get down to the gym and ride the bike, walk, something, anything... I'm getting faaaaaaat and squishy.
Looking forward to 2 weeks so I can get some sexy times...
And for the 3 week point so I can start massaging, well, really so I can teach my SO to massage them, he is looking forward to it...
And for 4 weeks so I can try sleeping on my side...

So many things to look forward to... Onto week 2!

Day 9: remarkably unremarkable the last few days. Nothing much to note. Put my back out trying to change the position of the pillows I had been sleeping on last night. Thought I wasn't propped up enough, so added another pillow and spent the rest of today in bed trying to loosen my back up, ehhhh...
Pain is heaps better... mostly on the right side and dulled by my back... Boobs are still hard and wierd, but gonna look pretty good I think... eventually...

Finally got around to taking a pic... Day 18 boobies.
The left is still a bit more swollen and high than the right, will be starting massage on Tuesday so they should start to soften up a lot quicker then...

Day 26... Nearly at a month now.
Had my PS follow up on Tuesday, he is a bit worried as my implants have moved into the centre (I noticed this a few days before my follow up-it is visable in the picture above) I am either going to have banging cleavage, or could develop symmastia. Have to massage them out. Hard. Wear a high underwire bra for 12h compression, and no bra at night to let gravity do it's thing. May have been due to implant size, and the fact that my muscles down my sides were quite tight from the pole.
Hoping it is just a bit of swelling and will go down over the next few weeks, though I think they are going to be very close together. The right also has a flat spot on it, so I am massaging like crazy trying to make them look normal.
I really want to go back to work, but the underwire bra makes lines on my boobs that will look weird when I strip... Plus it is pretty ugly looking.
In more positive news, I got properly fitted and am now solidly an 8E (30E) and the implants are softening a lot since I have been able to start massaging.
Looking forward to getting off the couch and back to work....
