    Default Recognizing Repeat Customers?

I have a terrible memory for faces! It doesn't matter whether it's been 5 minutes or 5 months since I last saw someone, I seriously will not remember what they look like the second after they leave my line of vision, if it's the first time we've interacted. I forsee this being a serious problem for me, because:
    1. After I've made the rounds around the room a couple times, I can't remember who I've talked to and who I haven't......who has been sitting there a while, and who just got there, etc.
    2. I work day shift, so I'm sure there's a much larger percentage of repeat customers, and I would feel super embarrassed if I kept going up to them shift after shift acting like I just met them, when I've already talked to them several times before.
    3. I have at least one customer right now who has the potential to be a regular for me (I think), but if he were to stop back in again, I wouldn't remember what he looks like! That obviously is not going to make him feel special.
I can remember all kinds of personal details that these guys tell me about themselves, just not their faces!! Any tips on improving? How do you ladies do it?

Try focusing on a distinguishing feature about the customer, like glasses, a scar, a defining feature, anything. Clothing is less useful as they won't be wearing the same thing during subsequent visits, but it could still help to remember it so you don't go back to them later unintentionally.

If a customer even seems familiar, I ask, "do I know you?". If I do than we reconnect, if not it's an ice breaker.

I have the exact same problem! Like Shanna said I really make an effort to find something distinguishing about them and make a mental note of it ("younger guy with widows peak= buys 2 dances then leaves," "wide nose+ crazy bags under eyes= talks slow but gets VIP rooms") and if it's a saturday nite I gotta pay attention to what a guy's wearing or I will definitely risk asking a guy I already danced for what his name is lol. I also try to make a note of what part of the room different guys are sitting in. If all else fails, when I realize I'm not recognizing someone I'll just try to laugh it off and blame it on the club being dark then I'll playfully bring up a personal detail I remember about them to prove I know them.

Thanks for the article Jessica. I can definitely read emotions of faces, guess age based on faces, etc. but just have a bad memory for faces especially when it comes to shriveled up older men... and let's face it, a big portion of the guys in strip clubs are shriveled up older men...

Oh! I had no idea it was an actual disorder. I bet I have that, it's so embarrassing. (ex. The other night I was hanging out with some girls, and I went out to this club with one of them. We met a girl inside who I thought was one of the girls I had been hanging out with previously, so I went up and gave her a big hug. In actuality, I'd never met her before. No wonder she looked so weirded out. )
