Last week I cleaned out my closet (again) and I have far too many pairs of shoes to keep but it breaks my heart to throw them away so I usually put them up on eBay for a fraction of what they cost and pray I can at least make a third of what I paid for for them. This month I put up a pair of sick fendi shoes that I purchased over the summer at saks here in ny. I tried them on in the store, thought they looked great and as soon as I got home, I stored the shoes in my closet and forgot I had them. (horrible habit)
So while preparing my closet for winter clothing and shoes, I find the shoes again...only now my feet somehow grew and no longer fit.
i made an ad on eBay offering to sell the shoes for 800 (the original price was 1200) or best offer. A day later I receive an offer for 400 which I countered with 600. The guy writes me an email saying he has been looking everywhere for these shoes and no one carries the small sizes and his wife's birthday is Friday. He asked if he buys the shoes now can I guarantee she will get them in time for Friday. I agree saying that I will need to charge extra for shipping since I will be sending them next day air. He responds with how happy he is and thanks me a million times. Then he realizes the ad clearly states (in more than one area) that the shoes are 6.5 not 6 and he panics. I explain to him that the European sizes run smaller than American and that she should be fine. He begs me not to sell to anyone else for one our so he can drive home and measure her shoe just to be sure. He messages me again and asks to compare his measurements to the shoe. I do it and we have a match. He immediatly sends the full payment and a letter saying that his wife is turning 40 and her entire life she dreamed of having designer shoes.
I just thought he was the sweetest, most thoughtful guy on the face of the planet!
