Since when does it take a degree in Finance to understand a simple Checking and Savings account?BoAmerica is literally attempting to steal my money one month at a time! When I call them out on it, I'm given ridiculous excuses yet get my money refunded. I need a new bank...BAD. The details:
I've been with BoAmerica for a few years. Shame on me for not researching the types of accounts I signed up for, I guess. For the last 2 years.. I notice a new fee, a different amount, for a different reason. There are so many I lose track but 6 months ago I was being charged $15 a month, then $6 a month now $12 a month...all from my savings. All different reasons. The excuses I'm given vary from "new banking policies," "federal law," to basically, "you did this wrong...now do this to avoid the fee." I mean...COME ON these people are having me do back flips for access to my own money. No no..not access, for the privilege of keeping all of my money without them getting their grubby little hands on it. I have to make monthly transfers from my checkings into saving to avoid one fee. I have to limit my Savings account transactions to 3 per month to avoid another. Did I mention that they charged me a fee when their website was down and I went into their building to ask a banker for help with my account? Yep! Sure they end up refunding my fee's after many stressful calls and online chats with their representatives, thats besides the point. Each time I talk to them, they make it sound as if the fault is mine for not "knowing" these things. What bothers me is that the fees pop up at random. So..it's okay that I've been bouncing my money from Savings to Checking all year except for these last two months? I've had the same two accounts for years. Why am I being charged fee's then scolded for inquiring about them?
Bottom line; I'm sick of being toyed with at this bank. If I don't monitor my accounts like a hawk, they'd get away with stealing my money. Is it like this at every bank or is it just BoA? Can anyone recommend a better banking institution in southern New England? I'm very close to just stuffing all money under my mattress.
