Default Question for girls with personal websites

So I'm in the process of putting my website together & have a question for those of you who have personal pay sites with video clips. Do any of you use background music (like bow-chika-BOW-BOW) in your videos... if so, has anybody bought royalty free music from the internet & do you know any good sites? I've tried musicloop & theyre all about $50 for good music. Dont wanna end up in jail for playing top 40 hits in the background! lol

I dont know that you really need music playing in the background but if you want it, then I suppose your only option would be to shell out the 50 bucks for what you found on musicloop and consider it an investment in your business- or spend some time searching google until you find some other suitable royalty free clips.

I mean it'll be interesting to see what others post here (or in the music mix thread) but I know Ive looked previously and there really doesnt seem to be any one site out there with a bunch of contemporary royalty free music on it.

(or you can roll the dice- play copyrighted music in the background and hope it never becomes an issue)

When I had clips up on my site I actually collaborated with local artist and got personal permission to use each song.

This one is royalty free http://www.jamendo.com/en/
I believe pandora, grooveshark, and lastfm all have royalty free sections

Hey There, Had to chime in on this thread.

My hubby does web design and he says that with the kind of site you are going with, you really dont want to have music going when the visitor goes to the site.

His reasons are because some visitors might be "involved" or going to your site being discreet (wife or g/f sleeping, parents or kids in the room) and if they forget the volume is up then it might not be so discreet anymore..lol.

I can see his point but when I read this thread to him and him being a designer, that was the thoughts.

Very smart hubby. I'm surprised the other ladies didn't think of this.
