    Default Identify the pole

OK I just picked up a new pole. It's some kind of portable pole but way more solid than they usually are. Comes with a two foot wide, fairly heavy beveled disc base that the pole screws onto. There is some kind of cut into the pole about 20 inches from the top, that appears to be another joint that unscrews or something. The top looks like it is ready to be screwed into the ceiling, if it was done correctly.

It's stainless steel. Sound familiar to anyone? I can take pictures of it later, it's still in my car now though.

Could be an x-pole but they're chrome not stainless steel. Are there two little holes above and below the joint in the pole? If so they can be undone with an allen key so you can transport it easier (if it's the new x-joint style). Also if the disc for the roof is a kind of cone shape with the middle being I guess 3-4 inches high then yep, definitely an x-pole.

Lil Mynx make stainless steel poles and I've heard of studios that use them so they must be somewhat sturdy but haven't ever used one to my knowledge.

Hey cool thanks for the reply Amareth. It could well be chrome. It's not new, I picked it up outside my favorite hangout, the only stripclub I haven't worked in yet in Key West. They have apts upstairs, I bet a dancer moved out and couldn't take it with her.

I have a feeling you are correct and it's an X-Pole. I already have one so I'm not in a hurry to get it out of the car yet. OK wait I don't already have an X-Pole, mine is like a street sign pole, a galvanized steel tube I tied to the wooden beam in my apt.

Oh wait, duh, nevermind. I read that all wrong, lol.

They only gave you one base?

It was outside my hangout last night after they closed, I asked the manager what it was doing out there and if I could take it and he said sure. It's still in my car, I will bring it up later after I have recovered from last night.

But I just looked up 'X-Pole' in Google images and that's what it is--but I thought the part that goes at the top was the base! It seems too heavy to be at the top. I doubt I will use it though, the one I have is fine even if it's not so pretty lol. I might give this one away, or maybe keep it for when I move someday.

You could easily sell it for 100-200, just find out first if it's the new model or the old, you can tell by the joints, if they screw together it's old if they have joints inside them (about 20cm long that come out when loosened and pulled) its the new design. X poles are the most reliable brand of portable pole so people are always looking for cheap second hand ones.

Also it can be spinning OR static by adjusting the little screws in the bottom so if yours is static only you could keep it on spinning and get yourself all dizzy for fun!

Lucky! I bought a chrome 50mm xpole a while ago and would literally never buy a pole by any other brand.

Got enough girls over to my apartment to dance on it and decide they also loved it that the manager at our club replaced our stage pole with a 45mm titanium gold xpole. And loves it so much we're getting another for the vip room...

We've had four girls on it all spinning and it's been awesome- would not have had the faith in the old pole to do that.

X-Pole poles come in Chrome, Stainless Steel, Brass and Titanium Gold. I own one and from what you were describing it for sure sounds like an X-Pole. They are amazing poles!

I do gymnastic tricks on the poles, like in the picture. I never dance anywhere near them.

It is indeed an X-pole--it's got the allen wrench holes as were described by Amareth.

Positive it's an X? If it just has a disc base with no legs at all, it sounds more like a Star Stand Alone.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.
If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.
If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

No, it's the X-pro, same one we had. GREAT pole DJ; not cheap either. Too bad you didn't get the carry case too!
